I would never want a 4.3'' screen. I want my phone to fit in my pocket and let me move around comfortably without being afraid that my phone could snap in half at any second.

or crunch your bizzles. ;) That *hit could cause problems down the road!

^^^ "Like clockwork, we've just been dropped a line by T-Mobile USA asking us to join them for a very special media event to check out the HTC HD2..."

Personally I'm not too sure that the higher-ups at Verizon could spell "clockwork" if you spotted them the words "work" and "clock."

True and true, but guys chill. Ya never know, VZW could kick something off any day. We got 2 weeks before CTIA, maybe we'll get a bone this week or next. This 2 weeks is gonna be killer!

WHAT IS EVERYONE GONNA DO IF THERE IS NOTHING AT CTIA? Don't mean to yell, but seriously, it could happen and you better be prepared. No halfassed decisions!

Pisses me off! Wow, you mean you can let your customers know stuff and still make money. I am sick of Verizon's cloak and dagger bull s**t!!! It'd be nice if those limp d**ks, would throw us a bone. A hint. A picture. Anything. I want to call and rip a customer service rep a new a$$ hole. (Even though it's not their fault)!

First post, I have read all 78 pages of this thread starting a few days ago and I am really excited about getting a new android phone. My 2 year contract is up with verizon on March 22nd and I will finally be able to get out from under my LG voyager. I don't really care which phone either the Incredible or Nexus one or some other smartphone that comes out as long as I can get it on my family plan, it's running android 2.1, and is capable of flash gaming. If there is not announcement from V on the 23rd at CTIA about either the Incredible launching or the Nexus one available through verizon on a family plan then I'm gonna end up with a droid and wait for the 2.1 update.

the one thing I find interesting in the debate on how Google is handling the N1 and comparing it to Apple and how they approached the iPhone is 1 fundamental difference: the iPhone had zero competition for the first three years of its life. Just now we're starting to be able to see devices come out that can truly threaten Apple and their stake in the market.

Google is running the risk of a failure to capitalize on what they have. They have the first device in the US utilizing a 1Ghz processor, they have the first device in the US running Android 2.1. In the next 8-12 weeks, that market advantage is most likely gone as more devices come to market.

I know people say that Google will stick to their strategy, and maybe they will. And maybe in the process they miss the boat because of the perception that their phone is already obsolete, so to speak, compared to the easier to acquire competition.

i know that this is the incredible forum, and i am a new poster, but i have been reading and lurking since oct/nov....Long story and i am sure few will not believe me but i have seen and played with a 4.3" 1gz android device for verizon from motorola. i was told to expect it this june. The phone did have verizon branding. I am located in the northern suburbs of chicago. The guy who had the phone is some sort of programmer/developer for MOT.

can anyone confirm this. i am very anxious for the N1/incredible/etc. it is very hard to keep waiting....

-so the phone had no physical keyboard?
-how did you know it was 4.3'' and 1ghz? did the guy who had the phone tell you this or were you just guessing?
-how long ago was this?
-do you see this guy often to get more details out of him? did he throw a possible name out there for the phone?
-was it an all black phone or were there any colors that stood out to you (like the red on the incredible) ?

either way, thanks for the information.....it sounds HOT. if that release date is accurate, it could be VZW's way of combating/competing with the supersonic, as the SS release should be right around there too.

Hey guys, I have been lurking here since October 2009. Finally decided to join to get your opinion on this link/ article. Not sure how legit it is but let me know what you think it could be potentially bad news.

Thanks for all of the info you guys have been providing, I love this forum and watch it all day at work.

*these are not new pics as we have all seen them before, there is info about the phone possibly being delayed but does not look too legit

Not bad news....to me.....If a redesign means scrapping the colors and the outer Ipod=-looking casing I am all for it. I waited this long!!

hmmmmm Incredible, Nexus One, Shawdow........that's 3! What are these other 3? Desire? That would be cool. Is there an LG Android phone in the works?

And WHY THE F**K can't Verizon do this??????

T-Mobile invites us to 'come experience the HTC HD2' on March 16; release on the 24th? -- Engadget

LOL, thats because Verizon is in a stable enough position to not have proactively seek out media attention regarding a phone. They will wait till the last possible second as they are not about to be sold off.

Well well ladies and gentlemen. If the rumor of 6 android-based phones is to be believed, we may be in for quite a ride. With that "news" however, I am even more inclined to believe what some have been saying about the phone being an Eris replacement. While I'm sure not all of the alleged phones will be top tier, I'm still going to hold my breath on a 4.3" HD2 variant on big red.

I have the Voyager as well. I feel ya. My ne2 is tomorrow! And i'm sick of watching people with thier fancy smartphones. I def know I'll never switch to at&t for the iphone. Everyone and their mama has that damn phone. And we were tryin to watch a vid on that thing and it lagged like crazy. A part of me wants to switch to another carrier cause if all else fails I want the freakin Desire! The N1 just doesnt appeal to me, dunno why, it just doesnt. Not a big fan of the physical trackball is part of it

Does anyone have mifi through Verizon? Cause I pay 60$ for only 5MB and I get 1 1/2 bars. I'm not a happy camper with them right now.

Verizon you'd better announce something on the 23rd or give us SOMETHING. Or your gonna loose a customer. I'm so sick of seeing everyone else getting the good s**t (yes I know they can give a rats ass if they loose me as a customer. but that doesnt take my frustration away)

Oh I'll be several months. May is the earliest I could go to ATT. I don't really want to, to be honest. I like VZW and I want an Android handset that works for me. I really wanna be able to customize. I'll wait until I can get it. I also tend to think Stevie Jack@ss is well that, a jack@ss.

Im actually thinking of Sprint. $69.99 all you can text or call to any mobile providers and unlimited data? That plus the supersonic sounds awfully enticing to me...are they tricky with their "calls and texts TO a mobile" is receiving texts and calls form other providers not unlimited? I live in b-lo so not SF or NYC where most dropping seems to take place..

This just looks like more info gleaned from this forum.

Thats what I was thinking myself, either way I have been getting ancy and the waiting game is not too much fun. But, we have come this far and like JMKosmo said if it means making the phone even better then it is worth the wait to me but I think May is my limit especially with the N1 debuting soon (hopefully)

You read my mind. Slap a corporate discount on that $70/month and add 1 Supersonic and that, as they say, is that! This would have been an ideal scenario for me except that i will NEVER go back to sprint due to the horrific customer service experience I had with one of their managers.

I tend to agree with this based upon the insider info that I have.

I don't know anything about that site so I have nothing to base an opinion on except that they don't cite any sources for the information and these two things:

As we know, Verizon differs with sufficiently rigorous approach to the selection of devices operating in its network. For example, that’s why the release of Nexus One for CDMA networks has been delayed to the end of March. According to information available, the developers improve the use of multitouch for the users of Verizon not to feel discomfort when working with the smartphone.
This doesn't seem accurate because both Google and VZW said N1 would come in "Spring 2010". Where I live, Spring starts on March 20th so the 23rd ain't so bad because technically they have until June 19th - the day spring ends. In other words, N1 isn't delayed, it's right on time.

and this:

Apparently, HTC Incredible has also been sent for redesign. If before the 23rd of March was the date of the release of the device, now it seems that we will see this smartphone not before May.
is lifted right from this thread according to rumors that other posters have heard.

This is just my 2 cents. Does anyone know the reliability of that site?

I was with sprint before verizon. And it seemed I was getting strange charges on my bills. And a couple other things. I'll never go back to them. If all else fails I'll prob go to Tmobile for the Desire. Supersonic is pretty sweet though

The HD2 is 1.5mm taller than the Desire, 7mm wider, and 1 mm thinner.

HTC - Products - HTC Desire - Specification
HTC - Products - HTC HD2 - Specification

We have had a HD2 at work for months and it was a preproduction model with all that big chunky white stuff over the body and it fits in a pocket like a dream. The screen size difference is very noticable. If they added android, cut off the send/end buttons and made the others buttons capacitive on the HD2, I would buy it in a heartbeat over the N1 or Incredible. Verizon or AT&T (maybe even TMo). AMOLED screen be damned.

i coulda swore that the txts were for anybody on any carrier, but the calls had to be from/to mobile phones to be free. if they weren't, they come from the minutes you purchase (450 or 900) in addition to the specs above. that was my understanding of it.

If they're employees can't even record a video of a phone in their hand without filming the floor 80% of the time, I don't have much faith in them handling my mobile transactions.;)
