Root [ROM/Kernel] Stock++

Is there a link to ur theme?

no not yet im still finishing it up here are a couple screenshots of what i have so far. its basically my carbon theme that i never posted because the new roms that have come out.[/QUOTE]

Oh ok and love the way its looking so far.

Lol all this flashing. Has anyone actually tried using ADB for moving files over?

Mount the system r/w first then use ADB to push files to /system/app or /system/framework

mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system is the default mount command while in ADB Shell.

Then exit the shell and go to your directory where the new files are and use adb push newfile.apk /system/app or wherever you want it to go.

I never flash themes. I push them over and wipe dalvik cache. Works every time.

Edit: Oh, and I'm using a de-odexed, zipaligned stock ROM with a lot of stuff that I took out and made a theme for. I'd like to use the kernel for the overclocking, but I'm not reflashing an entire ROM just for that.

If anyone's pulled out just the kernel, could you upload it here as a standalone download to be flashed? I could probably do it but I don't have a kitchen on here or even the SDK.

A.) This ROM is ext4, not yaffs2, lrn2mount.
B.) MTD? Yeah, cut and pasting stuff for other phones will get you nowhere on the Admire.

I'd appreciate it if you'd stop spreading false information for this phone, before somebody ****s their phone up. Thanks.

good news req fixed the updater script for me to work with this rom so everyone will be able to flash the theme when i am done. I will get it done as soon as i can. probably next day or 2

I'm not bashing anyone when I say this, I know how much some of these guys love to theme their roms, but to be honest, I only wanted an ICS theme for my phone to hold me over until req0 figures out the camera for CM7 (IF it can be figured out). I installed GO Launcher and downloaded an ICS theme and was happy for a bit until I found an ICS launcher. To me it seems like you all are going way out of your way to do these things when there is probably an easier way to do it. Good luck though, I am definitely not saying you should stop, lol. :)

Hi there!

Can I suggest that everybody take a step back, a few deep breaths, and a few minutes to review the Site Rules & Guidelines?

This will hopefully prevent any more petty bickering and personal attacks, and thus avoid any need for infractions.

Remember..... "attack issues, not people".

Hey thanks for all the great work.i'm a cricket user . I got a question my phone the samsung vitality went fine with this rom and kernel, the only thing that does not work is the web browser on 3g ,youtube works under wifi and mms too, they all do work under wifi, just the browser on the 3g is the problem and probably the gps with no voice too thanks man in advance.

hey requisite can you make this rom where it won't turn off your brightness and it won't turn off your music when your battery is low before I could play my music and have my brightness as far as I can until 1 percent please kudos.im on 10% and its dark and can't play music or stream

well i installed this early today and its working good. i follow the tut on the first page and also did what samsungadmire said to install and everything is running as it should. i have done that much on it but seems a little better then before.

i also partition 1 gig on my sd to ext2 and used linktosd. i install all my apps and it didn't slow down one bit like it did before. about time i can install all the apps i want without losing speed.

thx alot requisite0. cant wait til u finish cm

You can do this yourself by changing the autobrightness settings. As far as the music player, I think you will have to deal with it. I have been following req0's work and I doubt he is going to change it for you. Sorry, lol

Want to go back to the original CWM? Try reading the first post. After you master reading the original post of a thread containing something you flashed to your phone,

After flashing the original CWM to the phone you get can't mount cache errors, follow these steps to be able to restore your Nandroid backup.
1) Remove SD card from phone and insert it in a card reader or another device to attach it to your computer.
2) With the SD card opened on your computer, delete all folders and files from your SD card and then copy the backup you made earlier to it. You can make a copy of the current SD card folders/files in a new folder if you wish. (you did backup your SD card, right?)
3) Once everything is done writing to the SD card, unmount it from the computer and insert it back into your phone.
4) Boot into CWM (at this point, can't mount cache errors will still be showing, but just ignore it) and navigate to backup and restore and used advanced restore to restore your Nandroid backup one section at a time. If you get an md5 checksum doesn't match error, start over from step 1 again.
5) Restart phone and your backup should be restored.

req posted suigins (or however you spell it) 5.0.2.7 clockworkmod which was cwm flashable then you can restore your nandroid backup from there

TO GET BACK TO CWM 5027
refer to this thread. http://androidforums.com/admire-all...-recovery-not-compatible-rom-manager-yet.html make sure you download all the files 100%

1. turn your phone all the way off.
2. open odin on your pc
3. with your phone OFF, plug in usb cble to computer and the phone
4. with your phone still off..press and hold the volume down, back, and power buttons until you see the download mode screen.
5. press volume up
6. odin should see your phone in the first port, so click on the "select ops" button and select the schr720.ops file
7. click on the PDA button, select the "admire-cwm" tar file. disregard "not valid image file" popup. just close the popup.
8. Press start. wait till the process is done, it will show you and it will reboot your phone.
9. open cwm 5027 recovery, do whatever wiping is necessary and then flash your backup.
10. hope this helps.

works fine for me everytime, not doing anything special other than just reading the instructions.
