Root [wip][rom][cm7][zvc] lg-ls855 marquee

ueventd.rc stuff. Did make a couple changes for BT I seen they had made in the Black's repoo but I think it was all ueventd.rc. I thought I was using the one from the Black's repo but I wasn't.

Update first post with the latest build for you all to try.

Things working/partially working are:

-Bluetooth (need someone to verify BT headset works)
-Camera (G-Button may not work)
-Video Playback (check if there is audio or not)

Let me know what you find working or not working.:D

Well damn craptorman, good stuff. Honestly I had lost all but a pinch of hope that this would progress. I mean this is one of if not the best "aftermarket" roms available for any Android phone yet it seems there is little to no buzz surrounding it. I for one couldn't wait for this moment as I'm sure my google search history could reflect and now I can't wait for a stable release lol.

Camera works.

Wifi works.

BT headset connects and can launch the Voice Dialer, but it doesn't seem to accept any commands. If I launch Voice Dialer by itself it immediately fails and tells me to try again.

No audio on videos. Alarm works but also no audio. Sound Recorder seems to work, but also no audio when played back. Audio seems to be absent throughout the entire system.

Vibrate doesn't work.

And, as you already know, cellular/data does not work. I also have the blank screen problem when the screen goes to sleep. Plugging in USB turns it back on.

I got my build environment setup yesterday and went ahead and built cm7 today. The build went smooth and everything seemed to go well.

I copied the zip to my sdcard and tried to install it, and I am getting an error.

Installing update:
assert failed:getprop("ro.product.device") == "LS855" l l getprop("ro.build.product") == "LS855"
(status 7)
Installation aborted

Any Ideas what might be the problem? Any help would be appreciated.;)

Quick fix is to just remove the very first line in the updater-script file. If one of the ro.product.device, ro.build.product don't match what's already on the phone you'll get this error.

Glad to hear you got it to build. For some reason mine won't build now. Been to busy with other things to mess with it.

I got it to build yeah, but it won't install or boot. I edited the updater-script removing the lines you spoke of. I even unzipped your cm7 package and looked at the updater-script in it to insure I done it correctly.

Even after modifying the updater-script I can't get it to install, error code 6 now instead of 7.

I would like to contribute some help in getting cm7 up and working on the lg marquee. It's back to the drawing board for me. I gotta figure out why this current build is corrupted and won't install.

Are you editing it with notepad or something else? I had problems with blank spaces in the script on certain programs and it would mess things up, opening and editing them in notepad fixed it for me.

Just use the same updater-script

My my my. I see that a few of you just don't know the time and effort Bloodawn and Monster put in to making phones like the Prevail and Marquee better for us all.

Please don't get on these guys. They give freely of their time. I wish a few of you had been around in the Prevail section over the past year. What they've done with that phone is amazing! There is no doubt in my mind that they will do the same here. Just give it time.

i am a huge fan of cm8

There never was a cm8. It was originally intended for honeycomb devices but Google never released the source code for 3.0, hence there was no cm8. And since they released 4.0, cyanogenmod decided to skip version numbers up to 9 signifying the skip in android version history. Cm7.1 was the latest release before cm9. Although there is legacy work for a cm7.2 in the works and I believe is currently released as an alpha.

no no you don't understand...i have used and highly recommend everyone to try cm8...best rom by far my friend

Can someone say MIUI????? lol

Actually , I like them all. CTMod, CM7, CM9 and ICS. It wouldn't break my heart if i had a copy of each sitting in a folder on my desktop. I can guarantee I would be switching every month or so.:D:D

I put cm9 on my old optimus v I liked it so much that my girl asked me to reactivate it for her. For that slow phone cm9 made it very capable.. slick look too..smooth, easy to use and understand. And the best of all you can enable gpu acceleration natively without any kind if modification. Miui is nice, but its too too much like an iPhone, and I'm an anti-apple kinda person..lol

I really like CM7. I was always switching between it and CTMOD on my Prevail. I like all the themes that are available for it too. I will say this though, Bloodawn has done an amazing job w/ CTMOD on this phone. I'm very happy with it and the kernels that are out there.

It would be cool if blood could bake the theme manager API& apk in to his next ctmod

No doubt. I'm off school for about a month and plan on learning to theme some for CTMod. I've already got the programs that I need, now I just need to take the time and learn it. Hopefully I'll have several out before I go back to school. I've already talked to J6Remy and he's given me the go ahead to convert his Prevail CTMod themes over to the Marquee. That should really help out a lot. I need to speak w/ Guspeed and see if he minds me doing the same with his themes. They both have some NICE 1's for CTMod.:D
