***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

He said that the Incredible would come out at least 30 days after the Nexus One and that the Incredible would be much better than the Nexus. A local Verizon Rep is like asking a local McDonalds employee about a new sandwich coming out. If they have any knowledge about it, they will probably exaggerate what they know to make it sound better.

Maybe he is right, but I don't know why a local rep know something and more wouldn't have been leaked if it was that down far already.
 
Its my guess you could garner more credible and hence. more useful info from from a homeless guy about this phone, than from an actual verizon store employee.:cool:
 
Since I travel for work I am able to check lots of different VZW stores in lots of different locations.

If you go off only what employees at these VZW stores where I asked both sales people and support people that were there about the phone I found a wide range of answers. The biggest thing I'm seeing is that NONE of them have been told by VZW them self anything about this phone.

Answers ranged from knowing nothing about it to knowing alot about it. The problem though is ALL of the ones that new anything about the phone said their source was the internet.

Based on this and all of the other things I've seen I would not expect to see this phone come out anytime soon which is disappointing as I would really like to get one even if I had to pay full price.

I'm sure there will be people who disagree with me and sure there are some things seem solid like these testers we keep finding but until VZW them self say something about it I'm gonna guess we are all up for a big let down in the coming months.

Now VZW I hope you prove me wrong.
 
Well. if the N1 is going to be ONLINE only(on google site), then it doesn't make sense why have Incredible 30 days after. I think both phone's will probably be launched around the same time, but one will be cheaper than the other by $100 or so.

I agree with heyeaglefn; I don't think what this rep said makes any sense. Not a slam on you Ruben, but, if the Incredible is done and ready to release, I just don't see VZW sitting on it for an extra 30 days from the date N1 is released, especially since VZW appears to have nothing to do with the sales, release, or service of the N1 other than providing a network on which to use it.

Thanks for sharing anything you find out, but I think this rep's info is about as reliable as AT&T's 3G coverage.

I think we need to look at April 17th being the hopeful release date, as this seems to come from the good sources that have given us other valuable information. This could all change, come Tuesday, but right now this is the looking like the most likely date from what we've heard so far.
 
I think that we will hear about the release of the N1 for verizon very soon and then the incredible might be announced at CTIA and released mid to late april, which is on par with what NKT says, i seriously doubt that the incredible will be released at CTIA, they might just make an announcement but i think Verizon will have to create major anticipation about this phone like they did for the droid... something like ... "The droid is evolving and it is an Incredible thing" :p. But thats what i think....

Edit: My decision on the N1 or HTCI will be dependent on if this question is answered. If i get the N1 from verizon will i be able to use a sim card on it if i travel out of the country, or will it be just CDMA, i know with BB's it has Sim-card slots, do you think the VZ N1 will also have one? Nah, I don't think so. It would take more than a month in advance to allow viral marketing to do its magic.

Also considering how the N1 has pretty much been leaked to appear on all carriers now, the CTIA N1 Verizon announcement would just be... Blah.

Unfortunately, both of you may very well be right on. I do want to point out though, that yesterday NKT said the following when asked what date he sees for an Incredible release:

But thats only his one opinion :) on when he believes it will be released.

All we can wait for is real confirmation of when the phone is going to be released, otherwise everything is just a bunch of bologna.

Im hoping for March 27th because thats when im going to go get a new phone probably.

Hey guys (and gals),
I'm at dinner and monitoring the thread remotely (thank you Droid!) and just wanted to say I'm very happy and proud of how this forum has been conducted over the last few days...good job of keeping it (mostly) on topic and making great contributions. No matter what some minority individuals may say I think we've made it clear to the mods/admins that re-opening/merging was the right move. Keep up the great work!

And as usual, all you lurkers, please create an account and give us your thoughts and opinions, we want to hear them...it's been key to the success of this thread so far.

I told myself to stay away from this forum for a couple days so I could study for a midterm I have next week...but I couldn't take it, the excitement is mounting and I really can't wait for an official announcement of our most beloved device...I'm still hoping for a release in the first week of april...before april 8th to be exact, I have a BRMC concert to go to and I would love to have this beast for some photos and video of the show

I can't wait

agreed....and it's just the calm before the storm.

this thread will explode regardless of new info at ctia or not.

if nothing awesome is announced, then this thread will be filled with the "i'm switching to sprint" posts and "where is the info?" ...."did i miss the info?"..."who am i ?"...etc.

but if we hear an incredible announcment or something better, this thread will be even more insane. have fun mods hahaha.
 
I put up a release date poll on this forum. Go check it out and submit your vote. Most every date the stands out in this thread is there. Let me know over there if there is a date I missed or you think fits better. I want to see as do most of us what the rest of us are thinking.
 
I am waiting to see if any new phones will be released on Verizon that will enable me to use my NE2 option. If the N1 is made available on Verizon but not on family plans or purchased with the NE2 option i'm out. My dream come true would be the Incredible released with all available Verizon options for plans and the NE2 discount.:)

No info from internal sources has reached the frontline retail reps yet. Its just as you suspect, any info a rep has is based on the same sources everyone else in this forum is looking at.

Its often the case that information reaches the stores the same time its made public through some kind of press release. The recent partnership with Skype is a good example. I read a news post on Android Central the same day we received our first information about it internally. So its possible that we won't get any official information about the phone until VZW is ready to announce it to the public.

Generally, but not always, these announcements are made a couple weeks ahead of the launch date, especially for high profile handsets. This allows stores to pass along the date to customers, perhaps make appointments or adjust staffing for the release day.

My best guess, and its only a guess, is there will be an announcement at CTIA followed by an early April release. I don't honestly expect to see any internal information at the store level prior to a public announcement, we'll know when the world knows basically.
 
Im passing the time with a little Battlefield Bad Company 2 on the Xbox 360 :D addicted to the game and will be playing it until CTIA!!!!! then NEW PHONES GALORE!!
