As far as I know, Verizon Wireless isn't having a press conference, but they do have a booth. International CTIA WIRELESS 2010

They will be talking about there new phones i had found this out already by reading the different events this was back around page 30 when i found the info for the first time

I have been doing a little more digging. I did find out what times HTC and other cell companys are going to be talking about the next generation of smart phones and other things, when Verizon and other cell providers are going to talk about bandwith issues and emerging devices and other items.

With a few things happening on Monday at CTIA is there any chance we may hear a little bit of info on Monday or is Tuesday our best bet for some good news?

I'm sure we will see some hands on with the Incredible even if we don't see anything official. That type of stuff always happens at these kinds of things.

I got my RSS Hub setup and ready to go with all my favorite tech blogs :)

So if we do see some hands on then wouldn't that basically mean Incredible is our unnamed phone that HTC is introducing and that it should be coming sooner instead of later?

**Sorry, new to all this android stuff but hooked and can't wait for the Incredible.

Hi, quick off-topic question, sorry if it's noobish or w/e, but do you have to pay tax on phones that you pay retail price for, or do you just pay the flat retail price listed on VZW's site?

Still getting the same info. They are being 100% truthful to me and I am still sticking with that date (27th).

My reasoning is that there is no sense as to why they wouldn't release it a week or two before the N1. Doesn't make sense that they would sell something that they didn't carry in the store. If they did that, that would mean they would loose the chance to unload their own inventory versus helping someone else unload their inventory.

As far as the specs go, he was only able to provide the specs on the test phone. He informed me that he has the specs on the final phone but could not give any information. I didn't press it since I'm sure just like and other company e-mails going in and out are watched.

One more thing...
I am still sticking to my original theory of them announcing 1-2 days before its released like they did with the Eris.

The Droid was a whole other beast and it was their first "super phone" for the Android OS. Why wouldn't they shell out the money for advertising. Next round of phones, they won't need to spend a whole lot of $$$ with CITA and all the tech sites out there advertising for them. I have yet to see anything for the Devour and thats being sold by Best Buy and Walmart for a few weeks now.

That's my 2 cents...:D:D:D:D

I dont believe you were here when we were discussing how verizon makes money...bottom line, they dont care who's phones they sell, they want contracts. Inventory shminventory... they dont give a f..k they make money when someone signs a two year contract.

Oh and the mods are so anal because
androidforums.com Estimated Worth $246696.2 USD

They worth a quarter mil yo

Yeah but VZ isn't making money when people are buying the N1 straight from google and not signing new contracts...

If Verizon released this phone around the time the Supersonic was released then people would argue which is better Incredible vs Supersonic? Wouldn't Verizon want people to consider it more of a battle between Incredible vs iPhone?

Edit: Does anyone know when Flash 10.1 will be on the phone? I'm pretty sure there testing it now but not really positive as I don't know much about it.

that's pretty awesome, hope it's coming to the inc.

If they release this phone a day or 2 after it's announcement, I assume I'll have to line up in front of a Verizon store early to get it? Or what's the deal?

I'm sort of new to the whole "state-of-the-art" phone thing. I've always been a generation or 2 behind in the past. :p

If I had to guess, I wouldn't think you will have to line up for the Incredible. I don't think it has the fan fare that the iPhoney had when it came out, although it really should, but that's good for us!

Thanks for the quick answer! That's a good point you make - aside from the diehards, it isn't being hyped up, so it probably won't be blowing the locks off of the doors first day. I hope it drums up some good word of mouth and becomes a success though!

Well not only that, but when people want an iPhone there is only one modern model being sold, so there will be lines.

On the other hand, if people want an Android phone, the HTC Incredible is just one of many models. You won't see a line for that because the market is saturated with difference products.

Ok here is my take on the N1 being released ahead of the Incredible... Why would Verizon let this happen as by the time the N1 gets to Verizon every network will already have it... Expecially ATT google screwed the pooch with releasing the att version before the CDMA version. Why would anyone on Verizons biggest competitors network change to Verizon for the N1 when They can get it on ATT's network. If Verizon hopes to steal any customers then the Incredible will be released before the N1.
Now there are those that will say what about if the incredible has the screen issues.... Our sources say it doesnt and the N1 does. so why would Verizon hold back the incredible for that They wouldnt... I also do not believe that They would release a phone on a Saturday. They will not.... a Friday like the Droid Maybe... but my guess is a Tuesday where the customer will hear about it over the weekend then have time... not on a Monday to get it but a Tuesday. April 6th is my official prediction as this will screw up my vacation as i will be messing with the phone the entire time

It for a commercial for the Devour which wasn't released yet. Waste of money IMO because the phone isn't all that great except for it's aluminum body.

And oddly enough, between the time of the superbowl ad and the best buy release of the devour, I had called Verizon customer service and inquired about upcoming handsets including the devour and I mentioned the superbowl add. I was told that the superbowl add didn't name a carrier for the devour. Definately a swing and a miss for advertising.

So I don't think we'll see much along the lines of comercials for the Incredible.
