Root [ROM][BOOST/SPRINT][ZVC]Marky Beats v2 beta[updated 7/30]

It's not a problem... so you know if this rom is compatable with tgw marquee unleashed kernel @ 1300mhz? I keep trying
to load it in CWM but it keeps giving me an error and aborts the install.
 
would there be any big differences if i ran the sprint version on the boost phone? other than the splash screen and the stock software??

So I have been doing some research, and since I am kind of a newbie at this (and I want to try the marky beats rom) I was wondering if I could employ the help of this community.

I have found a way to allow phones flashed to virgin mobile the ability to decode incoming MMS messages properly. The problem is that this requires framework.jar to be edited. I don't know how to do this yet, but I have already modified the code in a way that will allow your sprint rom to double as a virgin mobile rom (hopefully) without effecting the service for the original carrier.

My phone is flashed to Virgin Mobile already, so I would definitely be happy to test the virgin mobile side, we just need a sprint tester that is willing to give this modification a try.

Let me know if you are willing to give this a try Monster, and I will upload the java file to drive and post a link.
 
thanks to all who make this possible. i have lg marquee ctmod 3.6.5 hyper kernel 3d unleashed 3.1 1200Mhz. factory reset cleard cashe/dalvik. flashed marky beats rebooted, flashed kernel. then rebooted. couldnt sign into google, noticed i was roaming. checked all settings in android. roaming was set to o on, set sprint only. then rebooted. no service. waited over night. factory reset, wiped dalvik and cashe. restored from backup still no service. tried flashing unleashed kernel 3.1 again no luck. any suggestions will be greatly apperciated. maybe im not the only one experiencing this.
 
I have a rooted LG Marquee, sprint model. I have installed a custom rom by some guy awhile ago that took out a lot of bloat and looked stock still. I was wondering if there was a way to install this rom, and make my phone work on boost, if so how would I go about it. I'm a complete noob to doin' any of this. So a tutorial or short walkthrough would be appreciated. Don't have to go complete imbecile because I am not technologically ******ed. Thank you in advance.
 
Wifi Tethering is not working on my phone with this ROM.
Is this a known issue?
CTMod's Wifi Tethering is working fine, but that has some other issue to me...:(

Updates: did some research in this thread and found the hidden menu workaround, but have to do it again each time I boot the phone. Do we have a permanent solution now? Hope OP to make this parameter default in his ROM.
 
First off thank you for posting all of this. Lots of great information and fun stuff! I've installed this ROM with the hyper kernel (tried .2 and 1.5) and most things appear to be working. The one issue i have though is the touch screen. Sometimes it works great, other time its nearly impossible to even text as I press a letter it selects that letter and several others around it. When trying to create a widget by doing a long hold, sometimes it will do something, most of the time it will not. When pressing and holding an icon for example, the icon jitters constantly even though I am not moving at all.

Not sure what to do... Any suggestions?

try recalibrating the accelerometer
-Settings-Display Settings-Accelerometer Calibration and follow the steps
 
I re-installed the ROM and everything seems to be working now. I am not sure what happened during the first install. Thanks for your suggestion TookRDerbs
 
I have discovered a different issue that i was not able to find in the forum. When I take a picture with the camera, the audio 'click' goes into a loop and clicks over and over again. The phone just 'locks' while it does this for about 3 or 4 seconds. Any suggestions? Thanks so far I am really liking this new rom! Much quicker!

Its not the rom. Its whatever kernel u r using

They kernel issue is being addressed. Try switching to the Gov setting Performance before you take a picture. This might help.;)

What happened with this?
 
You guys are great! I switched to the performance gov and all is well with the camera function now. I need to do some research on what the different IO and gov modes do. Everything else thus far has been working really well. Super happy its like a whole new phone!

Did some research. I am now running 'scary' gov with SIO IO scheduler. So far so good. We shall see how long the battery lasts.

Well... no dice on the scary, lol. Sets the voltage too low when the screen is off so I cannot even play back music. I am on SmartAss V2 but with the camera issue. I will just deal with it. Performance sucks my battery down too quickly.

MMS will work, you still need to change the mmsc server in hidden menu. after that you are golden.

took me a while but ive been trying tons of different ways to get it to work and this way is the easiest so far.

flash this, you can do it on top of the other one because it only changes the a framework-res file so you wont lose anything.
