***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

Side question only vaguely related to the incredible:

My NE2 was up in February. As I understand it they've changed it so NE2 is only worth $50, but I was grandfathered in at -$100 (that's what it shows when I go to upgrade my phone online, too).

If I pick up an incredible when it comes out, but only get a 1-year contract with it, will I lose any NE2 discount I had? Or will it apply to this purchase, but no extra discount next year?

I'm pretty sure you need to start a new 2 year contract to use the NE2.

Any chance I can bribe someone to start a thread tomorrow if there is an announcement? I have patients scheduled back to back tomorrow and will only have a little over a minute in the dark room while developing x-rays to check for news. Definitely not enough time to try to sort through pages of posts and I will DIE if I have to wait till the end of the day to find out...well, not die but you KWIM.

Just wait till tomorrow...we'll REALLY have it beaten by end of the day tomorrow. I bet we have 10-15 more pages by tomorrow evening, if not more.

I'm pretty sure you need to start a new 2 year contract to use the NE2.

I was hoping that wasn't the case. It's still worth the extra $170 to be able to upgrade every year with the way technology is moving though, imo.

I know the Verizon execs think their network news is a big deal but no one gives a crap. Look at the Iphone. People wanted the phone and bought it in droves. It vastly increased the numbers of ATT subscribers and ATT had to struggle to get their network into shape afterwards. People first think about the phones and products and only think about the network after they have signed the contract.

i swear to god i would do it just to spite the f...ers at VZW for the way they have handled the release of the latest android phones. not to mention saving a damn mint on my monthly. but, alas tis only a dream as i only have VZW coverage where i live. they have me by the gonads, and i dont like it at all. now if the Incredible is announced tomorrow, they can tug all they want. i might even put a little red VZW ball in my mouth!

I for one hope not, but I can't help but notice a few similarities in their specs(ps I'm kinda noob at cell tech). Then again Sense and the casing could be used as selling points. Any thoughts?

The Nexus 1 isn't being sold through Verizon, if anything it would bump up the release date of the Incredible.

No, that's unlikely to happen because Verizon needs a phone they can sell in-store; that's the HTC Incredible.
