Shipping date speculation

so you'd rather use an inferior product for 5 years? and for half of the 5 years, you're suffering because the walmart glasses are falling apart during its EOL.

on something trivial, like knockoff bags for girls, I can kinda understand.
but sunglasses are not just about style. do you know if the lenses on the walmart glasses are certified for UV protection?

I doubt Google will let their preorders get preempted by partners. Plus, what does Office Depot consider "in stock?" Is this their distribution center, storeroom, or on shelf in the stores?

Wow this is off topic. I would agree with you on some things, but not sunglasses. There are other good brands other than Oakley, but I have not found one that is as comfortable and I also like the way they seem to enhance everything while reducing glare. Plus you look better in them than in Walmart specials.

It comes down to if you want to spend the $25 anyway. I have nothing in the app store that I want to buy, so that is not a savings to me. I would spend it on some music or something, but without it I am not going to be buying that anyway. It comes down to the individual's wants and needs. I am sure it will come later, but even if it is a month later, I am alright having saved $25-30.

Not doubting you Patriot. I just checked OD's website and it just says coming soon. Was it a tweet or a blog post somewhere where they gave dates? That would actually be good news for us waiting for shipments from elGoog.

edit:I also notice that they only list the 16GB so there must only be enough margin on those for it to make sense to sell them in brick and mortars.

Google really aren't helping. I asked them to confirm delivery as it is making my financial situation difficult because I don't know when I'll be charged. This was my reply.

Preorders will begin shipping in mid-July, though at this time I’m unable to provide a specific date for your individual order.

Once your order has shipped, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email and tracking number that will assist you in determining your package's estimated delivery date.

Seeing as how no one's gotten any confirmation or tracking order that I've seen, this week for arrival isn't looking promising anymore

I have seen tracking info released after midnight while the package was already well on it's way. sometimes it takes a bit for the system to catch up. Plus if it mails out tomorrow 2 day delivery would be Friday.

All I am saying is that it is to early to rule out this week.

I just got a package where the tracking info said it was still in customs in New York until about an hour after it was delivered, at which point it finally said it got to Delray Beach.

Maybe now isn't the best time for you to be buying? (Your wants exceed your needs.)
