Depends. In direct sunlight, it's worse. If it's not in direct sunlight, most likely better.
I personally don't care, i don't usually use my cell phone in direct sunlight. AMOLED FTW!!

Ok folks, as I have said I was with VZW for 4 years until last month as a sales rep. I have contacted retail reps/friends in 4 retail stores in this market (on their personal phones so they could speak honestly) and was told by all 4 colleagues that they have received ZERO information about the Incredible, ZERO devices/dummies are in the stores, they have not been asked to take an online training on the device yet, and they have received ZERO accessories for the device.
The only thing any of them knew about the Incredible they have gleaned from the Net.
I am POSITIVE I was given the truth, at least as far as what is happening in my former market. Not saying things cant change quickly, but this is the status as of now.
I would say any manager or rep that acts fishy about the device simply doesn't know anything about it, unless they read this forum, and they act nervous only because they know they will receive a write-up should they even discuss new devices hypothetically.
Me and one of my former colleagues are both CRAVING this device as much as any of you. I initially held off on the Moto Droid because of the N1, but I wont be satisfied now until I have the Incredible. Unfortunately, a retail store is not where we can gain any intelligence at this time.

This is most troubling....I am beginning to think someone is lying to us and all the rumors about this phone are going to be revealed as an extended April's Fool joke on Thursday! Boy will I be mad.....I'm talking Arnold-as-the-terminator-hunt-you-down-like-sarah-connor mad!!!
I know .... I just don't see how this device could be released in 2 weeks or even this month as there are no big mobile shows coming up, no official information, and only scattered and conflicting rumors ..... it just doesn't seem that it will release soon unfortunately (hoping I'm wrong though) ..... still stuck with my old Moto z6tv and have been up for renewal since October so this is DEFINITELY frustrating to me as well

Kbusch, what was the typical timing when new phones were released/announced? How far in advance did you guys find out about stuff before new phones got announced?

I wonder how many ppl will leave if the phone doesn't come out this month. Oh well, atleast the Nexus One will still be coming really soon. Maybe the Nexus One is still going to be released first then the HTC Incredible after?
If the Nexus One doesn't come by the end of this week, im picking up a DROID as im out of time (sister going back to college, need to get a new phone now) then gonna trade it back in within 30 days for the HTC Incredible (COME OUT SOON ALREADY!!!)

Sweet!! Unfortunately, they are not coming to Florida this go around. But Maiden + Dream Theater???? I may have to fly to Texas for that one!!
Dont get me wrong everyone, read my previous posts. It is not unusual for retail reps to be the very last to know anything. For high profile devices we often wouldnt get them until a day or so prior to release. For less desirable devices, we would get them way in advance, or at least get accessories, sometimes more than a month in advance.
The important thing to know is just because retail reps/management/even district managers do not know ANYTHING about the Incredible, DOES NOT MEAN that the device wont be launched soon. Its simply that VZW does NOT trust retail stores with confidential information. EVER.
I am keeping my hopes up, so should you!

Too late. I'm dead already. Pity.
It really depends. We knew about the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus for weeks, but that information was available online. Long story short, the Internet always knew about new devices prior to us/or at the exact time as us in the retail stores.
That said, most customers for most devices aren't online looking for this info, so from that stand point, yes we knew things before many of our customers. BUT, I am certain that if the customer was interested he/she could have found out about a device on the Net at the same date and time we did - if not before.

Count me in as leaving if this isn't released this month. My contract is up in May and unless Verizon releases a phone I want (read Incredible) I'm going to Sprint to get the EVO. I really don't think I want the N1 at this point.
I wonder why people have so many image problems? I'm using Chrome on a cheapo laptop and dont have any formatting problems.... no side-scrolling here..
could it be Chrome?
