Root [Release] Update to Baseband C_01.3E.03P

OK, upgrade whore here, just applied it. I booted into recovery to apply it (clockwork) but could also have started the process from ROM Manger, right?

As noted, had to re-sign into gmail accounts, also had to re-sign into corporate email account (had a scary moment where calendar stopped syncing).

My System Select was and is set to "automatic" not "home."

I've never changed my vocode to EVRC-B - voice quality has always been great for me, haven't seen any reason to make a change.

Thanks for posting this, Fab, I had stopped watching that thread, and would have likely missed th3steve's post...

Are you in a bad reception area to begin with?

I usually get like -65dB signal where I live, so I don't think I can get much better than that. I'm just looking for the (hopefully) better battery life.

-76 for me! is that better or worse?

The closer the number is to zero, the better. But I think once it gets to the -50's, there's actually problems with the signal being too strong.

But to put it this way, my Tour used to report -80dB as a perfect signal (in fact, it never went higher than that).

With my Droid, I've seen signals as high as -59dB. So Motorola did a good job with the radio in this phone :D

Installed it using SB recovery and it worked fine, had to reactive everything like fab said. Wave secure locked me out because it didnt recognize the new radio, but its all good. im getting -80 with 5 bars, up from -86. My signal actually went up some too. Thanks fab, you da man!

-90 for me, four bars, weather trending towards cloudy and then rain a day or so away.

I always have what I consider to be great voice quality (at least on my end) and no one has ever complained about how I sound.

i just tried this, and the first time it rebooted i did NOT get a prompt asking to active my phone but the prompt asking me to re enter my gmail passwords did come up. However it did not work.

BUT, I rebooted it a second time and everything is working fine. Much thanks

I did it VIA clockwork this AM. I believe this is also in the Verizon OTA too.

it may not completely improve reception since the hardware with the phone is what you have, this may tweak the way it processes the signal, cleaning it and decrypting it etc.

Bleh, alldroid hasnt activated my account yet...and its been liike 3 weeks :\ I searched for an email thinking maybe I forgot to click the activation link, but I never got one...

Before: -103dbm and 1 bar (I work in a basement)
Downloading the update to my Droid now. It's taking a while with such poor signal. Hope it improves!

After: -103 and 3 bars.

I just reprogrammed it, so we'll see if it improves. Need to do the roaming thing too.

I tried dialing ##program (##7764726), but the number has been changed, been disconnected, or shot into space.

What am I doing wrong?

Nevermind. I'm an idiot. I was dialing ** instead of ##. Now I need an SPC password. Guess I'll do more research.

Thanks for posting this! Just installed with clockwork. Everything went smooth. Jumped from 2 to 4 bars at work

Just did the update, but now I can't sign into google. It keeps giving me a sign in error. Im using UD 9.0 could that be the problem?

I can surf the internet though...Don't know what to do now.

Worked like a charm. Thanks Fab! Activation failed on my first attempt (probably a Verizon issue) but on the second try was good to go.

I think I read somewhere some were having an issue with Gmail and a reboot did the trick.

Update: its been about half an hour and at the office I normally go between 1x and 2 bars, so far I have been on a solid 3-4 bars (never gotten that here). I know it will vary for everyone but it's definitely made a huge difference in my area! The real test will be tonight at home (1 bar only by the window and PC) I live in a cell death trap (4 stories of cement/steel hurricane walls)
