NKT - Thanks again for the info. How long typically does it take for a phone release once the final "load", I have no idea what that is, is approved?
 
NKT - have you been able to recall an example where HTC has kept the same name of the phone from pre-production until the end product is released? Just curious - thanks! :)
 
One of the "benefits"of being OLD is that people often treat you differently,....a little more patient with you because you are probably confused and slow minded. Using this to my advantage, I took my 16 yr old grandson with me to our VZW store last night.
He wandered off to look at the phones and I patiently waited for a salesperson. A lovely young lady offered to answer any questions I might have. I told her I wanted to get my grandson a new phone for his 16th birthday and he had his heart set on "this phone" (and I handed her a crumpled piece of paper with the name "Incredible" written on it.) She said she had never heard of this phone but he might really like the Devour.
I pressed her about it and got a little shaky-voiced....because " 16 is such a special birthday!" After what seemed like forever, she finally said, "ma'am, we're not allowed to talk about that phone,...but if your grandson can wait a few weeks we may have something he will like."
So same-ol-same-ol.....but we had a great time giving it our best shot!

After-thought.....maybe some of you should try crying when you go in and ask!

So does this mean that there is a warehouse full of Incredibles sitting somewhere that will get an OTA update as soon as they are turned on, or is the load something that will hold up production of the phones?

I think im going to jump on the DROID bandwagon. 2.1 is out and available for everyone now (manually). Lookin real good too, they got their own custom Nexus One live wallpaper, it's red instead of multi-colors (figures :rolleyes:)

Hopefully the Incredible comes out within 30 days so i can exchange. If not, i'll trade it in for the Nexus One if that comes out.

Thanks for the info NKT. I KNOW you will be the first to fill us in on a release date (most likely with solid proof too).

The above quote was enough to keep me feelin' good about today, possibly the end of the week. I think it is safe to assume an announcment is close.

I think the old lady is lying. Either that, or is senile. Did she take a picture of the crumpled paper? How do even know she HAS a grandson? Got a picture of HIM?

Way too much detail in that story. Like everyone doesn't already know about the 2 week thing.......jeesh.

I bet a bunch of you losers are going to fall for this story hook, line and sinker. She will probably get a bunch of "Thank you's" too. Just because she's an old lady!

The real question is, do you still hold to your (speculated) mid-april release?

I'd say a couple weeks. But that depends on the marketers and how much they wanna hype the phone.

I am tempted to do the same thing.. however, I have a long history of losing heart right before things start to happen. So, I'm going to wait this one out!
