Root LG Viper and the Connect

I was having trouble compiling this kernel using -j5 which worked fine with other kernels... I just did make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE without using -j, it took a while but it worked...

I think you're supposed to use j4 or j2....

yeah it's what i heard too... the whole count +1 thing... but why do you use j16? LOL

or am i jus super slow and didn't get the joke? lol

Lucid did too, thier carriers paod LG for a update.... something MetroPCS rarely does. ;)

Ain't that the truth pg. metro rarely does anything for there phones which is ridiculous considering the prices they charge for there phones, U would think that they could afford to pay for an update more often than not ;-)

first, verizon's lucid got ics update on october
then, the sprint's viper got it also on yesterday
i don't even sure about this connect4g, let's prey

i still hope we can find this AS840 firmware, because it's a generic rom, almost no bloatware

No I talked to an engineer that test various phones for MetroPCS before they come over to the network and he said that MetroPCS has a policy of no OS upgrades outside of security and current OS issue fixes, so to go from one OS to a newer OS like say GB to ICS is not allowed with MetroPCS, they rather you buy a new phone. So there will be no ICS release for the Connect so you can stop praying.

Is this really true? i didn't know about this. Do you have any other source besides here-say?

That Can't Be True Cause Metro Updated The Huawei Ascend From Android 2.1(Eclair) To Android 2.2(Froyo)!!!!

Thats been the only device and mainly due to a special edition ascend that came with 2.2. Not been a device since get a os upgrade.

Now this being the S3 its not going to be lacking dev support, so screw official otas lol

I built it, I just need someone who knows how to put it into a boot.img to do that then have someone flash it.

Wish I could I'd like to test. If the connect gets ICS I'll be using it again and giving the wifey this motion
