here's a major challenge.... Beat this score

This is not a stable tweak so it will not appear in my rom. and no i will not tell you what it is so don't ask... Just know that i own the benchmark now :p

Last run i did without sd still ran over 5000

I will do a baseline run for anyone wondering what performance is on stock speeds

Third run base line 1024 is next

well i have noticed that the frame rate on 2d is limited or capped i'm working on a way to raise the cap for 2d and 3d without taking it to high. why cap it at 60 fps when i can hit 80fps like in the pics i posted. that's why my score was so high.... i hit 80fps on 2d and 63.75 fps on 3d

When benchmarking i can see my 3d score topping over 58 fps... i was wondering why it would stop at 60.... now i know!

Stupid class 4 SD card.

My fps was between 81.5-82.5

Awesome i'm guessing you figured out what my secret was lol. anyways if so you will notice lots of choppiness when scrolling menus and such. i'm trying to either raise it kernel side or through android and limit it kernel side if i can. lets make a separate thread for this. And if Early can just merge these posts related to it over into that thread to clean this one up.
 
please post all results, questions, and/or issues related to the removal of the frame limiter.

Yea I tried the tweak in the past but that was before stable oc kernels.

I got rid of all other graphic tweaks and scrolling smoothed out a bit.

I'm wondering if we set to 70 fps if we still break 5000 and maybe smooth the scrolling.

Took that from xda... its gonna be a challenge finding a good balance... haven't figured out how you guys are doing it yet though
 
Yea.
I just wanted to pass shins challenge.
Hope he (or someone) can figure out a stable way to utilize the tweak.

As is it also creates ghost images in some games.

All this does is remove the cap... we would need to figure out a way to change the cap and raise it a few frames... which is probably some kernel stuff which I can't do
 
Maybe down can.

I changed mine to 81 and it stayed right under and at 60 during the test. Mind pm'n me and telling me how to do this?

If its the script I think it is...it only un caps. Someone who can program would need to write it to set a Max frame rate. The issue would be screen tear. I would imagine 60 was set as a safer number to match the refresh rate
 
Its a build.prop line. It just uncaps fps but shin is working on other ways to boost graphics

60 is stock we want to push past stock.
 
Would it not be scripted in the int.qcom post boot.she? I was sure the kernal controls it. I didnt think the kernel controlled the build prop.

I meant the manuf. set maxas60 so as not to create the screen tear issue.
 
im upping all of it, im about to test the OC gpu code i made i also upped the refresh rate so maybe we wont have to uncap it and it will run a higher fps

Have you looked at the freedreno open source gpu drivers?.... been reading into it but its beyond my personal expertise.

lol...just wanted to share mine...though I haven't noticed any bugs or overheating and been running it for a couple hours now.

Hey thanks im cloning the repo now and will be trying to build and incorporate this into the newest version of my rom :)
 
lol he added a fork of the project to his github so he can view changes and such from his account.
