Root How do I root my phone?

Hmm an easy way to find out if it truly was successful, go into your bootloader and select recovery. If there is that dreaded triangle then you don't have a custom recovery yet and the flash actually failed.

So power down and hold volume down and power, select recovery. I'm getting a red triangle, so I FAILED. I'll try again.

Have you tried unplugging the device and re plugging it back in?

Evo 4g drivers are installed as well yes?

Which EVO 4G drivers are you specifically talking about? I've followed every step so far. Maybe I am missing the drivers. Idk.

If you installed htcsync, you have the drivers...they are included

Yeah, it's installed. Idk why it can't find my phone. I'll try one of the other methods I guess.

Yes that will be one of the ways you'll get to recovery from here on out

Congrats on the successful root.

Once you get the hang of being a root user and start flashing roms, I can almost guarantee you'll become a flash-a-holic like most of us here .
