Root [ROM][ALPHA] Quattrimus ICS (CM9, AOKP40)

On a side note, you can get to the PRL update/activation menu in CM9, but it will not bring up the keypad for you to press 1 to activate. Just one of those amusing things to find as stock just says you're getting info from the SIM and kicks you out.
is it *228?

on cyanogen based roms when you dial a number and need a keypad like that press and hold 0 after the number and it should add a plus... hit dial and itll show the normal calling screen

little trick i learned from acivating my fascinate without having to do the painful steps to restore to stock and reflash everything

Just got around to making this account. I've been running Quattrimus for about 5 days now, and I have to say that I haven't had any issues at all that weren't already stated as existing. No random reboots or anything.
Keep up the great work, tdm.

Just threw this on last night, actually. Had all but given up on this device. amazingly, AOKP on this thing is amazing. This is what this device could have been...

My son will be incredibly happy when data and GPS start working. Hopefully LG drops the source for their ICS soon, eh?

Thanks, tdm!

We have the most important part of the source already: the kernel. Unfortunately, the parts that would help with the data and gps are not gpl and will not be released.

It's better to compile than to port.... And since they've already done that, porting would actually be a step backward.

The data issue would remain if cm for another lg phone was ported, because the kernel is the problem. Unless someone wrote code (HALs) to make our device files work with the other r, it would give us the same results as what we have now.

Almost. The problem is the ril, or more specifically being able to drive it properly from the framework.

Oh, and let me reiterate that I'm not on vzw. My provider is strictly cdma 3g, so I will most likely not be able to do anything with 4g.

I am aware this is buried beneath all the roots for the OTA ICS update, but I'm going to try my hand at working on tdm's build here. I figured that it'd be better to just ask here, rather than start a new thread.
Where exactly do the problems lie and what is preventing us from having data?

hi iiClouds. This has not been given up on and is still being worked on. Not by me personally but Since I saw your post I wanted to let you know where to come to speak with the people who can give you all the info you need. Go to this irc channel freenode Web IRC (qwebirc) and all the main devs for the spectrum are there.

The big thing right now is data. I am on a Sprint sub-carrier so I can't really do any data testing. What works for me may not work for you. And I absolutely can't test 4g or gsm... I am 3g only. So anything you can do to help there would be great.

The only other thing I've noticed is that audio for Bluetooth calls is busted (but music over Bluetooth works).

Oh, and I did get 1x data working for myself, but not 3g. I added a one line patch to the framework and used the default ril to get that.

Hey TDM, have you had luck with the new radio files? I ask because since I took the ICS update and unlocked, I can not get even 1x signal or the ability to make phone calls on and CM9 build.

No, honestly I've not worked on the spectrum in a bit. I've taken this almost as far as I can without a vzw account and everyone is enamored with the official ics right now so I've been hacking on the marquee ics kernel.

Fair enough. If you find time, it would be greatly appreaciated thou. As it is, the custom kernel we're running for the boot unlocker does not allow bluetooth to connect to devices. I'm having issues getting the kernel to compile for source, and nothing in init seems to be out of wack.

For what its worth TDM, I'd personally have much more interest in CM or AOKP if the data worked compared to ICS if you can find time. Hope this doesnt come off as demanding or anything etc cause thats not my intention man.

Also, I've got a Verizon service account, live in a solid 4G zone, and have a Jawbone bluetooth device (hands-free profile and A2DP). If there's every anything I can help test, I'm happy to do what I can.

Not at all.. Good to see interest remains. :) But like I said, I'm not going to be able to do anything with 4g or gsm.

I put my 3g changes out and nobody said it worked, so not sure what's up with that. Bluetooth calling is an annoyance that is like to fix also.

Anyway, I'll get back to do cm10 after I figure out the marquee kernel. I made a breakthrough today so hopefully won't be long.

If you need help testing anything let me or anyone else know and I'm sure we will help in whatever way we can. I got Verizon and 4g coverage where I live as well.

I requested sources from lg, hopefully when they are posted that will help.

Do we have a flashable ics ota yet? I am super impressed with the boot unlocker but I'm not going to go there with my phone. :)
