Root Last Hurrah [ROM/Kernel/CWM] CM7.2-RC2-2012-08-11-requisite0-BETA -- CWM Cache Issue Addressed

ill try that sometime later, time to hit the hay

EDIT: Honestly guys what looks better from first glance?? CM7 or CM9. I know CM9 a shot into space and trying to track down where it hit from earth but it does look a whole lot better than CM7. It takes awhile to get used to the how to use the touchscreen on CM9 cause it really is like a mouse and at first you are like wtf!! and the screen will turn off because of the flickering. to keep it from turning off you have to keep touching and moving the touchscreen. CM7 has more functionality and in the end thats what I prefer. So i still say CM7 is the way to go for now.

*side note* CM7 pic is from the other version as im still not able to boot the one from this thread

They both look the same to me. MDPI. Different launchers. Same quality. Theres not going to be _any_ visual quality improvement when switching from one rom to the next. Its all MDPI. The resolution wil not get any better than that.
Lets think about something here realistically:
Scenario: In CM7, or OA, or any GB rom that you choose, your doing your daily thing on your phone -- texting, running maps, games, etc... Then you browse the web and go to a page that OMGWTFBBQ eats up every little last bit of your RAM so your phone bogs down. What a bummer ya?
You think "Hey, I wonder if that CM9/ICS port will cure this?"
The answer is "no". In fact, it will most likely make it worse. Think about it: You're going to have an unofficial dirty port of CM9 not built from source (because we know this current version out atm is a kang ), not being efficient on RAM (with the general lack of ram we have to begin with), not being smooth as butter (like the current GB builds are), probably being horrible on battery, etc etc etc, the list goes on...
Even with source, y'all will need a very seasoned developer to even start backporting all the admires drivers so ICS can work with a GB kernel... Its a long shot at best.
You guys.... Srsly.... I plea with you.... For the love of God.... Finish CM7.... Go buy a new phone if you're that gahgah over ICS. You'll thank me for it afterward.

So basically mr Spzquisite0 what you are saying is the kernel you released is broken and that we should say screw it or finish it. Either way its a crap kernel and crap phone and we should upgrade.

lol. interpret it however you want I suppose.
And, my name is not Spzuqisite0.. Its Spz0. Thx..

To clarify what you _think_ you read:
The kernel is not broken. The kernel works fine. The build works fine aside from bugs previously stated. If you cannot boot due to the kernel, use a different kernel.
I never said the phone was crap. I _said_ "complete CM7"... The phone runs great (albeit serious ram issues) on GB roms. I've ran OA on my dev vitality for over 7 months and it still flies.
I _did_ say, that if you want an ICS experience, upgrade.

btw..
A simple search on github will bring up req's latest work on CM7 if anyone wants to bother rebuilding it.

I agree with everything Spz0 says here. thats the true fact of the matter. I personally believe we can get a fully operational CM7, were so close after all. all we need is someone to actually know what they are doing and to take the time to do it.

Ok, so here's the deal. I am all for mixing a little fun with on-topic discussion. But there is a line where it goes too far. That line was crossed, so the thread has been cleaned. Lets keep it on the right side of that line from here on out.

Thanks! :)

Thank you, I was waiting for someone to come in and handle the issue.

I still hate the fact I can flash this onto my phone lol I want to try it out for myself, all I have to go on is everything you guys say and the other version of cm.

Yeah noticed that flashing stuff on the admire is more complicated than on my phone, took me an hour:D

Hey Spz0, I'm trying to build something from source for the Admire, would you know (I don't know if I'm wording this right) where I could find the github device tree for the Admire?

EDIT: After more googling, I found PG's github and found what I think is the device profile for the Admire from (forked is the term?) req0's github but it says its for CM7... What I'm doing is different... would it still work?
its on my github look up boraichee. sorry i know this question is old

It Takes Me Less Than 5 Minutes

Don't hurry it. take your time.It doesen't take too long to install but the cashe has to build itself when it first gets installed

Don't be in a hurry to update the apps from playstore. Set up your gmail account, sign into playstore all the way and when it ask to update your apps just hit the home key and let it sit. if you wait and update the next day you shouldn't have any f/c or error messages.

But I think it really takes a few days to settle in. after maybe 3 charging cycles i can tell if the phone is gonna take to it or if it is not right for it. If all else fails install sues 5027 cwm and restore your back up.
