Does Metro or the MIR Fulfillment house they use take that long (3 Months) to issue rebates?
Maybe I'll wait for the S-III to be deeply discounted before the S-IIII arrives this Spring (rumored), although I hate the color of the S-III and wish it came in Black and not just White although a Black case will take care of that issue.
If Metro offers the S-III for $300.00 within the next few months, those that paid $270.00 for a LG Spirit and are then waiting 3 months for a $70.00 rebate will be kicking themselves, although I'm speculating on the S-3 price. But if Metro discounted the Motion from $150 to $50 after MIR, and have discounted the S-3 to $399.00 recently I wonder what the closeout price will be?
And I believe Wirefly had the S-3 at $299.00 recently, so that price doesn't seem to be out of the question.
I guess we'll have to wait and see for sure what the pricing will be on the Spirit - perhaps Metro will discount them if they don't sell well @ $270.00 + the MIR as that is $150.00 more for basically 1" of screen size with better screen res, a 2100 mAh Battery and the USB port on the bottom of the phone, plus a few other enhancements.
Given a choice, I would guess that 80% of Metro customers would opt for the LG Motion at $100.00 before MIR than the LG Spirit at $270.00 before MIR, although IDK if Metro has done market research to come up with that price.
If it has 2GB of RAM, 10 GB of Storage and an 8MP camera, it would be more tempting but with the Micro SD slot, internal storage isn't that big of an issue unless the Spirit accepts a 64GB SD card, and that is still a lot of storage and exceeds most needs although with an 8MP camera I would shoot more video, but OTOH I can easily transfer them to my PC
Unless Metro sells out their inventory of the LG Motion and they are NLA once the LG Spirit hits the market. Otherwise, the value isn't really there at $270.00 even with the MIR if you have to wait 3 months for it.
