Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] A firmware update was just released.. 2.99 mb big, wtf???

i've gotten reminders already urging me to update...the longest i can postpone it before it reminds me again is in 3 hours :/
 
i reinstalled the stock rom with odin now when i try to run the update it tells me Access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they request it try later WTF!!
 
I dont know if the update is different for different users, but if its the same then you can download the one I uploaded, and put it into the cache/fota folder. Then update that way. But make sure that someone from here can confirm this would work. Im not sure.

Ok, I looked how Odin works, unfortunately I'm using a mac, so can't flash CMW with Odin. Would re-rooting using the quick root work? I'm on stock.

i pretty much have removed all the bloatware off my phone using a app called nobloat
i dont really need recovery as i am happy with stock

where did you upload it ?
 
Hey shabby what if I took a pure stock ics and flashed it through twrp. Would that then maybe allow me to install the update. Cuz for now it tells me to try again later or something. I have stock recovery and image I just think something maybe up with my stock rom seeing that it still says modified and all. I figure if I install/flash or what have you a new stock ics it may solve the problem. What are your thoughts sir?? Or is it a lost cause and should I just wait for flashable zips of the firmware and do it that way?
 
How did that work for you??!! I connected my phone to kies earlier and it didnt say anything. It just said I have the latest firmware. Did you have to check for it or what?

try rebooting ur phone and then connect it on ur computer thats how i did it once i connected a pop up came out saying theres an update
 
Can I avoid to update my phone and specially the annoying reminder????
I dont care about JB Im fine with ICS.
I had to install this update to avoid the reminder but i would like to avoid future updates.. is it possible?

You say you don't care about jb ? I respect your opinion but jelly bean is what makes android perfect and your phone will appreciate that
 
Do any of you guys no if or when will metro pcs release the jelly bean update for the S3? I couldnt find any threads for the question.
