Anybody else disappointed that the USB is located on the side? To me it seems the phone wasn't exactly well thought out. Like the power button and the volume rocker on the left side. You cant have both of them on the same side. Its just nor ergonomic ( I think thats the right word to describe it ). If you hold the phone with your left hand ( which I assume most people do ) your thumb is located on the the left side of the phone where the volume is. Makes sense but then your pointing finger is located on the top right where the 3.5mm head jack is located. The 3.5mm jack should have been located at the bottom so there could be docs with speakers made. I love having a dock for my phone and I really think the best way is having the phone straight up opposed to having it on its side. ohh and I really hope some one makes a back that is not contoured cause it looks really tacky. I like to pick up my phone knowing it is both featured rich with a gread OS and also looks high end. I dont want to pick it up every morning saying wth was HTC thinking?

It's probably on the side just like the Droid because there is going to be a desktop cradle or car mount (for GPS) just like the Droid.

If someone could explain why people go into a forum for a certain device and pushing something different. Do they get a rush getting a rise out of people? Gives 'em a woody? If that's the case go to the Sturgis Rally on a pink scooter and ask the ones with gang affiliation what they think of your "hog". I guess I just don't understand.

Dude, read my original post that got your lather up. If you live in a 4G city, the Evo is a no brainer. If. you. live. in. a. 4G. city....

If you don't live in a 4G city, then get the best whatever you like phone.

What I've been arguing with you was the fact that you were arguing about saying no phones would have similar specs, and no phone will be as fast, when in reality, most will. I'm not talking about JUST 4G people, i'm talking about the general consensus of people. After this post, I'm done arguing. It's useless as you're too stubborn to see things from any other point of view from your own. I'd have more fun arguing with a brick wall.

Posted or replyed very few times. Been here from the start.

To answer the question at hand --- I am going to buy my Incredible from the first authorized seller who can deliver. Corporate Verizon - Fine. Authorized Associated Store - Ok. Best Buy -- will work. On-line -- Can do. Aunt Granny's Cellular Back Woods Phone Store -- Dont really care as long as she gets me the phone.

Aren't you concerned with customer service though if you encounter any problems with the hardware, at say an indirect compared to a corporate store?

Really? Zzzz.

FYI, I'll be buying an Incredible. And I'll also be buying an Evo. So if you'll kindly direct me to the hybrid forum for future owners of both devices, I'll gladly dawdle off in that direction.

Until that time, I'll post in both threads (which I do) and not be chased off by bad metaphors. Or is it a simile. I can't remember.

:D yes same here!

A few things :)

1. What is the point for most people if 3G coverage is weak? EVO is great, but a long time to roll to more cities and then the fact that Sprint covers just a fraction of the area Verizon has for 3G and even 2G. Sprint is kind of like Tmo's other tech cousin ;) My company uses Sprint and Verizon with our Crackberries and the coverage for Sprint in Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, New York, Minnesota, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Illinois is WEAK compared to Verizon. So much so, we may ditch Sprint this year. Our area and market managers hate being stuck with no coverage (key reason Tmo was ditched already).

2. Verizon has 3G almost everywhere and good enough to stream higher res video content (good enough for most). Flash 10.1 will have a perfect match with Verizon :)

3. In regards to this thread, I have never seen so MANY posts in regards to so LITTLE information. Even what we have has yet to be confirmed and quite a bit seems suspect for various reasons. This thread will EXPLODE when there is some actual confirmed info, rather than "Confirmed: Incredible is being announced on Monday!" ;)

Please remember that though you all may love your yet-to-be-confirmed-spec device, it will never love you back. It is truly an unrequited love affair ;)

Still on the fence between this and the Droid (prefer a real keyboard as an option).

It's so big because were not wasting any time trying to convince anyone its a great phone. We already know it is a great phone! Aw screw it an INCREDIBLE PHONE! Also, if you watch the Sense video I believe my phone will love me back.

Aunt Granny is pretty handy. Have to be working in the back woods.

I'm a techie myself, I build/service computers for my student job - though the point is who can provide the best customer service period. I've read that if you buy the phone from best buy, after a month it would be the same as if you had bought it from a corporate store. I'm thinking this is the best way - as I'll get the instant rebate AND get direct support from Verizon corporate if it is ever needed.

If networks were equal, I think I would go for the Evo. I think the 4.3" screen is nice, and the way it uses most of the real estate for the screen. I do live in a 4G city, Minneapolis, but I travel a lot, and the network is a big factor for me, so I'll take the best phone I can get on the best network, especailly since I'm so anxious to get this phone. I don't wanna wait anymore.

The funny thing is I had a similar issue this weekend as well on another area of these forums. And guess what, he was a Sprint guy too. All you have been doing on here is trying to show why EVO is superior. Why? Will that validate your purchase. If I'm going to buy a Chevy, I don't go and post on a Ford forum why I think Chevy is superior. For people coming on here to find out about the Incredible all you're doing is giving them more posts to sort through.
P.S. I'm sorry, I used another bad metaphor. Doh!

honestly if this screen is the same as the nexus ones...i won't buy a screen protector. I've seen some videos on youtube of this guy with a nexus one taking a set of key and then a pair of scissors to the screen with some pretty good force and no scratches whatsoever were left behind. He scratched the crap out of the phone on the screen and on the back case and there were NO scratches at all...

YouTube - Nexus One- Overly Excessive Screen Test

Wow, that was really hard to watch. My BlackBerry screen would have been destroyed by all that abuse. I hope the screen on the Incredible is just as durable as this.
