This might be off topic, but not really, I am 20, so i understand the Kin 2 and i know how useful it is for people that love their tweeter, and facebook and trust me almost 80% of the time, when lectures are going on the laptops screen are showing a blue and white silhouette so, Microsoft has definitely done a good job of capturing that market, i read on engadget in the comment section, that building a phone based on tweeter and facebook is lame, well maybe but if microsoft and vzw can market this successfully, the kin would be huge for people aged 14-22 and i do see that happening....

Now, i would not be caught dead with a kin, first off the kin one looks like a squashed apple and i am loyal to my Incredible addiction, i just wish though that people wont be so critical of the phone, social networking is taking over the way we communicate and for companies to keep up with communication trends they need to provide a means for people to remain connected to the thier networks.

HTC Where's my phonE!!!??

hahaha ebay with some SWEET new incredible accesories...

You don't need "n" - the phone isn't fast enough to make any use of it. You aren't doing anything that requires 300mb/s transmit speeds that a 54mb/s can't handle. Most if not all wifi spots only have the g-band anyway.

your flash ROM on your phone is your limitation not the g band on the wifi.

As has been mentioned before, you get greater range with n.

But also note that that 54Mb/s is the maximum theoretical throughput. You'll never see that. You're more likely to see half of that or less. The i/o rates of the internal moviNAND will exceed actual 802.11g throughput.

So you will see a benefit even in direct line-of-sight but more importantly, greater throughput at greater distances, including distances that 802.11g might not even reach.

N is also more power efficient than G.

Well, speaking of the wireless N.... since our original specs have changed somewhat... I'm not sure how, but can someone check to see if HTC has filed anythign else with the FCC? Maybe they put in an update to get N? They would HAVE to apply for that update, wouldn't they?

Would this restaurant be ...................The Macaroni Grill?:D

waiting for remarks from Steven...................

Macaroni Grill is one of our family's favorite restaurants. I enjoy it, but I enjoy sushi more. Mrs. 58 does not like sushi, so this is a compromise. The 58 family children love sushi too, so we generally do Japanese. When we are with mom, however, we will do MG as a compromise. I find it funny that people think I am a MG freak. I am not. :) Sushi freak? Yes! Italian freak...meh. ok.

Your last name is really 58? That is WIERD!:D

Actually, amoled is naturally better than lcd. It has a better contract ratio which separates the lights and darks in the sunlight (or shade) and has much better potential. The N1 amoled is just cheap, but the samsung "super" amoled screens are much better than lcd, especially in sunlight.

Considering it's the same size as the N1's, there's a good chance the Incredible shares the exact same screen. Then again, it could be an improvement, it wouldn't be hard to slightly alter the materials in the machines that made the N1's to have a better screen and considering the amount of complaints and the quality of samsungs (screen wise at least), HTC HAS to be working on a better screen, at least for future models.

EDIT: Now that I think of it, the N1 screen wasn't bad in the sunlight except it was very reflective. Making it less reflective would be an extremely easy thing to overcome.

N1 screen sux for multi-touch. Droid screen is much better and even shown on a few Youtube vids. "Few" weeks to find out.

do you believe this is true?
it says that HTC Might switch from android to WebOS
link = HTC Incredible running webOS: Could drop Android : Product Reviews Net

Uhhhh, yeah, right - That's so purely all theoretical, as they have not even expressed any official interest in acquiring the company, let alone the article's ridiculous assumption that HTC could buy a company, rework an entire OS to put their UI on it, and slap all that on a phone that will be in our hands:D in 2 or 3 weeks. As was pointed out a handful of posts ago (I think), WebOS could be one of a few OS's they could use for a myriad of devices.

Just a thought; if they're talking about doing 6 new phone announcements, and two were announced today, think we could get an announcement every day this week to total the 6 handsets? That would be a crazy marketing tactic, but crazy enough to get some huge hype.

Like I said, just a thought. Keep the info rolling in, guys -- I'm getting really stoked for this phone!

I was thinking about the 6 devices thing and the 3, 2, 1 thing on that flyer last week: Perhaps it's 6 devices at 2 per day for three days, thus the 3, 2, 1.

Yeah, in addition to the greater range of N, if someone were to wirelessly sync files between their phone and computer (with N), then that would be several times faster than with G. :)

I'm at 9:50 pm's posts.. I'm about an hour and a half behind, here. Don't worry, I'll catch up, but I just have to say thank you to all the newbies and lurkers who are posting. I am enjoying your posts very much. It's nice to see new faces here. Welcome!

Yeah, normal, boring and meaningless, like mine. ;) The truth is that this post has given all of our lives mean and purpose. In fact, I am fearful of what is going to happen when the Incredible comes out. I think waiting for it has probably been more fun than actually playing with and getting used to it.

There's wisdom there, think about it.

Very true, but once this thread closes we are going to need a
Incredible Users Thread discussing what we are doing with our new phone.
Tips, tricks, hints for us current non-Android users.
Of course every post has to be sent from the Incredible to keep it on topic ;).

Two More Weeks...
