Root Evo 4G to Boost Mobile Guide/Evo 3D

its a 64-bit Windows 8. :(
So I wont be able to use this phone then?
I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 but I don't know if it is a 3G phone.
What can I do?

You can use the incog, you will however need to use a different computer to pull the info.

You do not want to use the blackberry, even if you could get the info from it the blackberry has a extra charge just because its a blackberry.

if another computer is not available but a different phone could be a samsung galaxy prevail will work.

There may also be others that will too.

Where do you live maybe someone close could assist with the incognito.
You could also set up a vm ware xp or other 32 bit windows if you know how.

Is there anyone that could help me do that by PM or something? & will putting this vm ware xp change my computer in any way? I really need this flashing to be done.. If anyone can help me do this please send me a PM (private message).

Also, what would the prevail be used for? My husband has a prevail..
 
Instead of using the incognito as the donor you can use the prevail as the donor. Problem is that once used the prevail cannot be used any more.

Where do you live? If you want you can mail me the device. Once I get the device I'll pull the aaa keys off it and email them to you. I'll also send the incognito back if you send me some postage... If you want the aaa from the incognito then that's what I'll send you or if you want a prevail donor I'll send you information off a prevail in exchange for the incognito.

I live by the NJ/PA border. If you're close maybe we can meet and see what we can do. I've no idea about setting up a vm ware setup. I've helped a few people get this done and I'm willing to help you too... just not sure about the best way to do this. What target phone are you going to be using? Evo 4g?

I can also do the whole thing through remote desktop once we get hold of the aaa keys.

Thank you so much! Well I live in Texas so I don't think meeting up would work. So I would have to send you the incognito by mail and you would get the information needed off of it, email it to me and you'll send me the incognito back. Correct? The rest would be done through the computer?

Yes, the phone im trying to get working on Boost would be the HTC Evo 4G.

Also, is there any way that we can get the aaa keys without sending the phone to you or is it necessary for me to send it? Just wondering, I want to get the phone working asap.
 
Okay, I have been following the guide to the letter. Last night, I finally got the HTC Evo 3D making calls and (delayed) texts. No data though. I hit ##33284# and sure enough, the AAA authentication failed. Well, I look things over and I realize I misread something and didn't have the AAA password right. Changed that, and ##33284# and the AAA is authenticated. Still no data!

I've looked over all my settings time and time again, everything matches up correctly. The only thing I can see, and I am not even sure that it refers to the same thing, is that the phone itself is set to Active Profile 1. I see in the guide, you make the Active Profile 0 with Service Programming. I did that. Even went back and did that again to be sure. Still, the phone says Active Profile 1. So, I changed it to Active Profile 0 in the phone itself. Hit "Commit Modifications" get the confirmation message, phone reboots and BLAM! Right back to Active profile 1.

If this is the problem, how do I fix it? If not, what else could it be? The MEID and ESN match, have all the proper HA and AAA passwords in, NAI info is correct, everything matches. I'm stumped and I don't see a solution here that I haven't already tried.

Oh, and I installed a custom kernel after all of this last night as well, needed a break from the flashing so was going to (slightly) overclock it. Ever since then, no calls or texts either, even though all the settings are the same as they were before I flashed the kernel.
 
make sure the meid is correct for the donor, do a ##768# reset when it starts up cancel the activation connect to QPST service programing put in profile 0 AAA and save, restart phone, let it activate. then it will search for prl let it or cancel if you already have the boost, or sprint prl then it should work.
 
Well, I tried that and it didn't work. Here is exactly how it went down:

Punched in ##768# and nothing happened. No activation to cancel or anything. I went ahead and re entered the profile 0 AAA, saved, it rebooted... nothing happened.

I've checked all my numbers repeatedly. ESN and MEID definitely match up. I already know the answer to this because I've read it so many times, but the AAA password for profile 0 is the 32 character one and the profile 1 is the 12 character one, correct?

Well, a quick Google search says the reset code is ##786#. Guess you were typing fast, maybe that's why it didn't work for me. Doing it now. Let you know how it goes.
 
Okay, got to the point where I need to let it activate after Service Programming and reboot. Can't connect to the wireless network so I set it to internet pass-through mode via my PC. Have internet that way, but it still won't activate. Giving me error code and saying it's unable to connect to mobile network. Finally, as I type this it tells me:

Your activation could not be completed. To try again, etc. Error code: 1012

Now what do I do?

Sorry, yes I typo'ed.
The profile 0 is 32 alpha numeric characters.

on the phone turn off wifi and only let it connect via the mobile broadband.

After you do the reset and it starts up it try's to activate, correct?
Cancel that activation and open QPST Service programing go to M.I.P. and open profile 0.
From there put in both the HA and the AAA keys, the HA is the generic sprint/boost one 736563726574.
Write to phone, the phone should reboot during the process at that point when activation comes up it should be activating.
You said that activation could not complete that sounds like your meid is incorrect as the voice text part should activate even if 3g does not.

I've been directed that this thread is the only place I can discuss this. Is there a way I can flash my HTC Evo V 4G from Virgin Mobile to Verizon? Would I need a donor phone or..? I'm S-Off on boot loader 1.50 and it's an unlocked Boot loader as well used HTCDev.com to unlock it. Used Juopunutbear from unlimited.io to S-Off with a wire trick. I just got this phone brand new on February 2nd so the MEID is clean.
 
Yes. You can flash it from virgin to Verizon. Yes you will need a donor. If you do not want to invest in a donor you can flash it to page+. No donor needed. But flashing a Sprint device to Verizon causes problems sometimes. Data issues. Good luck.

The legality is a grey area, but you would not be arrested for it.

You may at worst get kicked off the network.
That being said the chances of them finding out/caring are remote.
You will just want to remember to tell them your donor phone if you call them and they ask what phone your using.
 
Reason I'm asking tho is because the primary guy who I'll be on Verizon with is my Mom's boyfriend. They both have phones on Verizon. Both work fine here. But mine gets no service. So by "booting me off the network" as you mention would they fine my Mom's boyfriend then for that stuff? Or shut their phones off? And if they boot me off, is there a way to get back on to the network and tell em to kiss my ass while doing so? xD

Good questions, I dont know the answers to though.
Verizon is one I have never had phone service through. I would think as the primary on the account they would go to him first.
I doubt kicking you off the network would be the first step they want your money too much to do that.
 
And some have suggested just taking the phone to Verizon because apparently they don't care what phone you bring it they will flash it and make it work lol.

Verizon won't let you use anything but their devices.
However, they allow their MVNO's to use any CDMA devices, such as on PagePlus.

Verizon has not data issues, as someone posted earlier.
I get double to three times the internet/data speed comparing to the Sprint network.

So even if I did the whole donor phone thing it won't work with an Evo v 4G aka evo3D?
