[ROOT GUIDE] Boost Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2

So what exactly did you do then? U still have stock recovery correct? Which means you cant flash any zips.

Or did you use mobile Odin to try to put the cwm recovery kernel on?

I need you to tell me exactly what you did before your wouldn't boot. Then i will give u a solution

What u did was flash a gingerbread kernel on a ICS ROM which is why it will not let u boot the phone!!! If u had a zip for a ICS kernel u could solve the issue by flashing it right now and it would boot up.

where to get one from and how would i install it on my phone

If u didn't download any other kernels to your SD card we are left with Odin being the only option right now.:(

Option 1... Download a 1 click ROM. It can be any ROM you want.

Stock boost. Leaked jb ROM. But we want a one click bcuz it will put the proper kernel with the ROM 4 you.. here's a stock boost ROM one click i suggest.

Option 2... Download agat0.6.8 tar
And flash it through Odin then your phone will boot

Which choice sounds better to u?

You don't need it to boot...

Odin uses download mode.. And we could use recovery to fix it but you don't have what we need on your SD card.... As long as you can boot into recovery and download mode you are OK..

Are you in download mode?

If we can't get Odin to recognise it's not the end of the world.. If you can get the agat 0.6.8 zip on the SD card u can boot into recovery and flash it and the problem will be solved. Radio shack has things you can plug you micro SD into and them plug into the computer to access the SD card. Then you can put it back into the phone and flash it

i got it power then down now odin sees my phone and i have agat in the pda box do u want me to hit start

Yeah buddy:D

If it says passed then we are all good..

Boot into recovery and wipe cache. Then dalvik cache and reboot... And done. U don't need to wipe data

Because u wiped dalvik it will sit on Samsung for a minute. Don't worry

If it says fail. Then try again using a different USB port

No problem... Did Odin pass and are u booted up and normal again?

Make a nandroid backup and for now on keep a copy of the agat zip on your SD card in case this ever happens again:rolleyes:

Once you flash the stock ROM. You will lose CM10.1

Quick question: I recently went back to stock unrooted to get this update done, and then used framaroot to get back root and superuser. Now the question is, can i get a custom recovery to be able to make nandroids, etc. using the method in the original post or do I have to go about it a different way since I already have root, but no custom recovery?

To get a custom recovery you will have to flash a custom kernel via Odin or mobile Odin. There are kernel repacks that have the stock kernel and custom recovery, but you still have to flash those. Don't use rom manager to flash cwm, as it has been known to cause bricks on this device
