Root [ROM][ALPHA] CyanogenMod 10 for the LG Connect 4G MS840

aaaa it seams i got myself into a boot loop. i tried installing the cab file and bam im in this damn boot loop. should have verified before attempting.

I have to disappear for bout half hour or so. If you flashed a KDZ back to your phone and it boot loops, take battery out for a minute. Reinstall battery, press and hold the power button and volume down key until LG lights up, release and you should be in stock recovery. Follow prompts and let the recovery run.

It should boot up. If not, flash the KDZ again, repeat recovery. I'll check back in a bit to see if you need more help!

thank you i figured it out. cant w8 for this to go full Rom
 
Heres my report from testing this rom out


Things i found that are problems with the system
•Performance is little choppy smooth for the most part
•Reconizing mobile network(SMS,data,MMS,etc)
•Sound out
•camreas
Besides these items listed everything works pg.oh and I can't pull u a log cat don't know how so this rom should be up for everyday use closer than you think that is if pg doesn't find fixing these things difficult :D
 
Downloaded installed around 8 this morning playing with it all day.. thing is extremely smooth and stable other than the camera and data not working yet ..it has yet to reboot on its own... i am extremely happy with my phone again . . absolutely no problem during install... booted on first try..screen seems to be brighter .. games that would previously force close operate without a prob :D:)been a few times that I hAve not been able to receive and make calls... but for the most part been working okay been sending and receiving text have not tried picture mail yet
 
Way to go PG...a week before I was ready to jump to the S3..this may keep me on the Connect for a little while longer if it becomes stable enough to be a daily and get everything working..keeping an eye on this for sure.

Ha! you know who I havent seen through this whole thread. That guy that kept posting on every thread about how awful the connect is!

Great Job PG! glad to see this phone is moving up :)
 
0308 on goo if anyone wants to test it. Same issues for me, but I have no service or uiic card in my connect. Camera... well it opens and gallery fc's, closer I guess. lol

Just wntd 2say thx for spending time on this, we all knw tht u have like 5 other projects going Lmao!! But it has 2feel good being this damn close ;-)

Your getting closer with the camera working again no more device not found.

Data still not working. I read on xda that the nv file might get corrupted when going from Gingerbeard to Jellybean due to a change in the file system. I made a backup with qpst, but can't figure out how to restore it cause diagnostic mode I believe is not in CM10.
 
I think the reason why 4G is not working is because the ROM is not reading the SIM card. I've tried different apps to manage APN's but none of them work because it says the phone does not have a SIM card.

that doesnt explain why no 3g tho lol
 
the ROM is great, only problem is of course the mobile data and the camera. It also feels clunky and terms of performance, but I'm sure that can be fixed. My LG Lucid battery is also running at 82 degrees rather than 50 degrees, but I'm not sure if that's the ROM or not. Other than those things, I'm really loving the ROM. Thanks for all of the hard work :D
