Or i just go thru the pages and look for those posts where the "thanks" reach 10-15 and i can figure that is something worth reading.
For months, on several PCs/browsers, I've been using Ctrl-F on "users say" to find posts where multiple thanks have been given. Last night it was the only way to get through so many pages before it wasn't last night any more.

slightly off topic but not really. I have a question. I want to tether over wifi to a couple laptops with this phone when it comes out. My plan is "unlimited" as you all know. I called Verizon to ask if they still had the 5GB cap. The lady said not if you use a third party tethering program. I then asked her to check with her supervisor and he returned the same response. Do you guys/gals think this is true? You only have a cap on badwidth if you use the Verizon stuff to tether, but if using a third party application then it is truely unlimited like Sprint's plans?

Sounds too good to be true, but who knows?

There is no cap.

Here's how it works. If you have a smart phone and get a tethering plan, you are allotted 5gb of bandwidth a month. They don't shut you off once you hit that. They will throttle your connection and charge you for the data over 5gb.

Now, if you have a smart phone and don't get a tethering plan you have unlimited data. That means if you use a 3rd party application to tether your device it gets billed as part of your unlimited smart phone data plan.

Post 500 - I want to be frozen for two weeks. So I don't have to wait for the release. This waiting is making me Obsessive/Compulsive! "Yeah, Definitely F5, yeah, I'm an excellent driver."

To me that doesn't make sense. I don't know why they would tell their customers that they will be charged for tethering if they use Verizon's app, but if they use someone else's they won't. Then no one would use VZW's app and VZW wouldn't make money from it. They aren't in the business of giving away free services.

ahhh! im glad i didnt listen and didnt go to bed! Thanks Anoni (im not a mac fan, i dont use that word) :D

You know i get that a lot...and just to set the record straight, the "mac" in my handle has nothing to do with apple or mac. Don't own a single product...no iPhone/Pad/Mac/Pod/etc...

Isn't this where you can get in trouble, though. VZW can see if you are using too much bandwidth and cut you off if they think you are tethering illegally. Or is this something different and I'm just dumb?

There is no cap.

So the smartphone's data plan is truely unlimited on Verizon. When i buy this phone, i can use a third party application (non Verizon) and i can download all the crap i want and even if i use 30GB in a month, i will not be charged correct?

Yeah, I think they planned that 1300mAh battery on purpose, because they knew then that they'd get a bunch of people droppin' an extra $60 in their pockets for the extended battery.

We have a winner!

This would be one of the first times a device had a proactive aftermarket plan (for extended battery) and for the reasons you state ;) Makes perfect business sense and I hope the extended battery sells well and makes the idea common for future devices. Added: Assuming they do not put an underpowered battery as OEM and then sell a normal battery as aftermarket....

BTW, I still thing the reason for the two staged Best But adds are for pre-order and then retail store availability. I hold on to my "4/29 pre-order" date and May street date since hubris is hard to shake ;) it is human nature :)

Wouldn't it be nice if they were?!? :D Sounds like a perfectly sound business plan to me:rolleyes:

It's a possibility. I personally haven't heard of it happening. But I wouldn't be surprised if they start actively auditing accounts looking for that.

If you have someone without a tethering plan and they're using >10gb of data each month, there's a good chance they're tethered.

dont say anything steven!!! he might reset ur posts and add them to his own!!!

nah... im jk, he sounds like a cool guy :)

HA!! I'm gonna work on getting that done...in the spirit of "community" i'm gonna reset Steve58's "Thanks!" (he'll be back up to his current level in like 3 days) and just spread it out evenly...

Cartman tried that waiting on the Wii and he got launched 500 years into the future...best to be patient:cool:

only 2 more to go before the big one...lets make it special!!!!

What if...those that got to the VZW link yesterday (before it got taken down) and managed to sign up for early email notices...what if...they get the first shot at getting one online...? VZW knows there's gonna be a massive run on this phone immediately. This could be a scenario...just thinkin' out loud.
