If you pre-order online, do you get the instant online discount?

I am just wondering how much I have to pay on Monday 4/19 to pre-order with my NE2 discount?

Same thing if I wait until 4/29 to go to the store and buy it there.

so the launch package still says 16gb micro sdhc :( is that now set in stone??? no 32gb option?

If 16gb works, 32gb should work :) probably listed at 16gb, since that is the current highest that it was tested with (32gb just was launched).

Prices for em' will be high for a while, though.

Thanks, I didn't think so. Any idea on how much a 1400 minute family unlimited data plan runs for 2 smartphones? it looks like it will be either $180 or $150, 150 is a way easier sell :)
There is no family data plan. To see how much it will cost:

Family plan (tiered minutes/text) + cost of an additional line + two $30 data plans. Verizon does not allow you to "share" data plans with other lines.

It will support 32gb.... hell even the Droid Eris and Motorola Devour support 32gb... and until the prices come down on the 32GB cards since they are 200 bucks it's not really a real issue for most people yet but it does support it.

but certainly more on topic then lots of other conversations. I am not a verizon customer and I'm wondering a couple things:

A) I don't see on their website a better deal on the data plans if you buy the phone outright (like tmobile)

B) My plan @ ATT does not end until 5/8 so I can't port my number, which isnt a HUGE deal to me, but will be for my wife, so I was thinking I will pre order it and change numbers on a regular plan then on the 8th upgrade to a family plan and add my wifes ported number and she can get another. Is there another way where both our numbers can be ported besides waiting until the 8th?

C) what price range am I looking at for 2 of these? from the website it looks like it might be about $180 a month for 1400 minutes + unlimited data and text? can anyone confirm that? Or do I need the talk only if I get a smartphone with data??

Thanks for the help.

A) Plans for both at&fail are exactly the same.

B) You can get the HTC Incredible the day it's released. Just get a temporary number, than on 5\8 port your at&fail number over your temp number. Problem solved. I do this all the time for my clients.

C) Your price would for what you want would be as follows.
1400min Talk & Text
Line 1: $110.00 plus $29.99 unlimited data
Line 2: $9.99 plus $29.99 unlimited data

Both lines share 1400 min with free nights and weekends and free Verizon to Verizon.

Plus both lines have unlimited text.

Hope this helps. If you get them through me I will give you $25.00 each phone.

PhoneScoop interpreted this a bit differently...

"Verizon Wireless today took the wraps off the long-rumored HTC Droid Incredible, the newest phone in the carrier's Android lineup. The Droid Incredible will be available online from April 19, and in stores from April 29. The new device will cost $300 with a contract, and a $100 mail-in rebate, which comes as a debit card, is available. Verizon also says that shortly after launch, the phone will get access to Skype and NFL Mobile, two services the carrier has been pushing recently. The phone features a 3.7-inch, WVGA touchscreen using OLED tech, as well as an 8 megapixel camera around back. The interface is Android 2.1 with HTC's newest Sense UI on top. Inside, a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor drives the action.

Read the bold highlight very carefully...

Official press release say preorder on 19

I think they charge you from the date of pre-order but I'm not positive. I'm going to pre-order but only until AFTER my monthly cut-off date is reached. That way I'll have about 2 months to pay for the bill interest-free. :)

Pre order online you get instant discounts and the phone is delivered to your door on the 29th which is the day the stores will have it BUT if you buy in store you will get mail in rebates.

ONLINE is the way to ge. Don't have to pay out-of-pocket...just tell them to put it on your VZW bill. FedEx boy is usually bright'n'early @ my door, so I'll have my Incredible in hand shooting vids of crazy crowds at the local VZW, BB, stores, etc. :D

Really? Where does it say that? In the e-mail I got, it says:

"Pre-orders placed online before 4pm local time on 4/28 will be delivered 4/29"

It leaves the warehouses on 4/29, but we may not get it until May!

Unless I missed something?

It says delivered on the 29th, not shipped on the 29th.

Funny. The "contact" I mentioned a couple of months ago, who told me that the N1 would NOT be sold in stores and that the Inc was still in testing and had not release date is the same person who authored the press release. I've been emailing her back and forth regularly since. She's a wonderful and decent person, who treated me with respect throughout. Classy. Funny, she'd be the one who authors the press release.

The key is: "will be delivered 4/29" meaning delivered. Not in delivery but delivered. Hope that clears it up. :)

Ask her why no mention of the 8gb built in or FM radio!

No soup for her! ;)

Can someone please remember for the next big reveal that the phone is out on a Thursday (April 29th) and that pre-orderS are ten days in advance (April 19th) and that four days before the pre-orders (April 15th - TODAY) was the official announcement!!!

I read (lurked) that there was a lot of discussion about how things were released by Verizon with the Droid.

Now if anyone could remember what happened as far as pre-order deliveries, Best Buy purchases, and at Verizion store purchase for the Droid, this will assist me on where to go and/or which day to call-in sick (or at least late) so that I CAN GET MY PHONE!!!

HELP!!!!

In the Acknowledgment you receive, after you sign up for the Droid Incredible, it states at the bottom of the e-mail...

"Pre-orders placed online before 4pm local time on 4/28 will be delivered 4/29"

So you will received your DI-HTC on the 29th.
