Yesterday while puttering around outside I heard something that I've heard before, and looked up, only to see the Goodyear blimp flying around my neighborhood. I grabbed my camera and snapped some pics. I had no idea why the blimp was here, but assumed there was some sports event going on at the Rose Bowl [next door in Pasadena], and for some reason was flying around Arcadia, too. Not until I dumped the photos and looked at them on my laptop did I see that it had something to do with an event at Santa Anita Race Track, which is about a mile from my house. Isn't the whole point of having blimps at the places they're used these days is because they go "slow and low"?
