Root [TOOL] AIO ROOT, UNROOT, and RECOVERY INSTALLER (GUI EDITION)

I think your providing for the ZTE WARP Sequent the kind of Windows Interface software found in "Wuggs" Nexus Root Toolkit, that I found for my Nexus 7. I needed that helpful software interface, cause my command promp skills suck.

Nice going, good idea. Will this cross over to other phones? You could put it up on Play Store and be compensated for your labor.

Don't forget us little people that encouraged you when your raking in the buckets of money OK?

nope, they left it wide open

and crossing over to other phones will actually work. it still uses batch scripts for each function so if you take out all the user interaction like pause commands in a root bat, and modify my cwm.bat, stock.bat, and cwmt.bat files to reflect whatever recovery file names youll be using and what mmcblk they go on it should work just as well. mind you it will still be called the warp sequent tool

unfortunately though its not an android application so it cant go in the play store, it would have to be sold in a windows based store, which i could do, but i see no need. it was a learning experience for me, im not going to make people pay me money for it, thats not why im here, but if youve got the means to do so all donations are welcome

plus, i am no where near what Wug did, that is more like what i wanted to do but i started learning C++ about 24 hours ago... so yea im not quite there yet lol

See, now what you just said make's my head hurt, and I want to go lay down:)

And that can be the cost of a cup of coffee, on up, people....hint! hint!

And that I get, of course it's not Android, so you couldn't run it past that huge audience, too bad, thanks for clearing that up, (the mind going 100 miles an hour all the time, has a hard time with all those blurred out "detail thing's").

Again, we can say thanks, AND those who make use of your work, can actually SAY thanks by a donation, to you and all of the other developers working for the benefit of us all. That's the difference isn't it? We can say thanks, ... or we can show our thanks.

Junkie,

I thought to put my money, ... well, where my mouth is, but don't know if I've seen a "donate" link on any of your post's.

Help a guy out, and I'll buy you a cup of coffee.

yea i figured people might have had the thought before, i just never set one up. i figured id add one into this program though just in case since it was a relatively simple addition. maybe now that i have a link ill put it on my signature or something

well, i have a donate link on my signature in the OP, sadly they wont allow me pictures kuz i dont have developer status, i should look into that. but yea, feel free to buy me a beer... or a ferrari, ya kno, whatever lol XD

and it was on this post, it disappeared and i dont know why, so screw it lol

edit AGAIN. well its back now, screwy ass website

No to the beer, it's a depressant, got to have you sharp, staying up late, working on code.

The Ferrari, well maybe a used die-cast model from a thrift store.

Coffee, yea that's the ticket! Caffeine lot's of caffein! lol.

Cm would be better if it worked right. Im stuck on b09 right now kuz i needed a camera for thia goofy convention m at
Animestl... dont ask

I don't know what this phone was like before, but I got it just a few weeks ago now and it's been rock solid on rooted B09 the whole time I've had it. Battery life, no crashes, responsiveness, it's all been pretty great. I notice tiny bits of lag every once in a while, but coming from the Prevail this phone has been well worth the money.

I agree hundred percent stock b09 is way to go so far....b07 was a laggy memory eating pos...but this is nice

well yea coming from the prevail this things a beast. The prevail was a pos with a touch screen so small it was nearly useless. The tech in that thing went out of date before this thing and this thing is still years behind the curve

The Prevail was actually a pretty decent phone with what Bloodawn was able to do with it with his CTMod Rom. Yeah the touchscreen was awfully small, but when the Prevail came out there wasn't much more that was incredibly better on Boost from what I remember. Served me well for over a year anyway, so I got my money's worth.

This phone would be much better if we had more development on it, but even without it this last update has it running pretty damn well on stock.

Eh. Still cant play music steady without hiccups lol. Its a victim of bad coding. And youre right boost had nothing better. Because boost gets new phones 2 years after people stop buying the sprint veraion

I haven't had any hiccups with my music playback yet, but I don't use the stock music player so maybe that's why.

Yeah Boost is quite a bit behind, but they're catching up with some of the new devices they are starting to put out little by little. I even heard from a little birdie that Boost may start merging more with Sprint or something along those lines to where we could see new devices on the prepaid plans, although I'm sure they would cost a small fortune.

Just realized I was really derailing this topic, sorry for that. This is a really nice little GUI AIO tool, thanks for the work on it! :)

I had the problem and used player pro dsp pack and made the audio buffer large and it stopped the hiccups

Its hard to notice but i dont use the stock player either. They all have tiny little hiccups. Havent tried adjusting the buffer tho

so, any thoughts on which version is better? or possibly anything that could be added? the C++ version has quite a few extras but i can always put more in or organize things differently. tried to figure out radio buttons but they are confusing as hell so ill have to get back to you guys on that. and it does seem to be frozen while its working but its doing its thing in the background so dont worry it will either time out or go through the process...

also, is 3 minutes about right for the timeout of rooting? i know 1 minute is overkill for the recovery install but i wanted to make sure even under the worst circumstances that it was able to complete, wouldnt want it half way through and timing out on you

but let me know if rooting or unrooting takes more or less time than the 3 minutes ive given it that way i can adjust accordingly so you guys arent sitting there forever or bricking your phones because the process never finishes

Personally, I feel that SOME sort of continued info while the process is active is necessary to keep people from getting impatient and disconnect/bricking their phones, even if it just flashes a "please wait", & "rebooting", to "Finished!" Notification when done. Total background function doesn't seem the best solution for people doing the root/recovery for the first time, may be more likely to panic and mess something up. I love the GUI graphics tho! :car:

yea i was thinking the same thing when i was toying with it. maybe even just instructions at the top or a popup box that lets you know whats going on when you select something

alright, added a popup box to accept the responsibility for damages and to let people know what is going on, you have to press ok to continue or cancel to exit. try it out tell me if you think its enough

also added in a driver check, that way it pops up a window to show you if adb registers your device or not

and i decided to divide into two menus, make things a little less cluttered in the help menu

I wanted to mention that I tried it and all problems/mistakes were my own doing and didn't realize them until I reverted to the original doomlord script... But after all was said/done, when I tried to make a backup, it failed on creating backup img and when trying to install anything other than unsigned stock b09 with kept saying MD5 mismatch... Any ideas? Curious, cuz I almost stayed stuck on green Android boot loop after 1st factory reset

i try the new intaller to intall stock recovery anb said you should have stock or whatever a said but i when to check cwm was still on the phone

huh, i have no idea. if that was in fact stock recovery in the first two its the same file.... i never installed it myself kuz i want nothing to do with stock recovery, but i was under the impression it was tested a long time ago

the fact that if kept giving an md5 mismatch though i dont know... something is corrupted much like it would do in the original cwm. what did you use the tool to do exactly and what setup were you coming from? i did change to the official version of cwm but thats it...
