Root [ROM][ICS] Paranoid Android Ver1.6 Beta from source (31JUL2013)

Hi. Thank you for the rom, i've put it on last night. But i wanted to make sure its not just me .... The rom runs really slow compared to Sharp rom. Everything is just laggy... also sometimes touches on the screen don't register..... so you have to double tap. Are you guys all experiencing this or this this rom butter smooth for you? Thank you

Just had someone call me.

I see the phone circle in the middle but no indication of which direction answers and which hangs up.

is it right = answer
left = hang up?

You got it, swipe from center to right to answer, left to hang up :) I believe you can swipe up to text reply as well. The UI doesn't show the options initially, but when you press the center icon the orbiting icons should emerge.

Hay how does everyone have there dpi setting set to

after finding most of my gui settings were defaulting to Tablet UI I just changed them all to Phone UI and it looks normal now, including the screen for answering the phone. When I begin to swipe to answer call I can now see the green or red icons for answering or not.

runs butter smooth. though i did apply the V6 Supercharger mentioned in an earlier post on this thread.

That helped get more responsiveness out of it.
ES File explorer for example, loads much faster now. Other apps load faster too.

Went to the Supercharger page, what a mess. I stay far away from sites like that, I like sites with straight forward directions as on this site. If I can decipher the jargon and get through all the crap in the setup directions I'll give it a try.

Anyway, this ROM seems to be working well, I notice a bit more battery drain, might be due to Google Now.

That's the main reason I stay away from XDA, their website and posts are atrocious and they should feel bad (have you ever tried to find a download link for a ROM on a post there? GOOD LUCK). It's a shame that development for most other devices goes on there.

I know right? Looks like a MySpace page. My buddy said it reminded him of the side of a bottle of air tool oil.

Here's the nutshell version (I like to make my own documentation in case I have to again in the future)

-----------------
Root your phone if it isn' already

Do a NAND backup of your phone just in case

Starter Kit makes sure that your ROM has no silly stability issues so run it first.

copy SuperCharger_Starter_Kit_RC12.zip & V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-Update9_RC12_Test_6.sh.pdf to sd card

unzip starter kit

Install Script Manager from play store (Enable Browse as Root in Config)

Load "StartMeUp.sh" script into Script Manager (Run As Root - the skull and crossbones icon which turns green when selected)

Follow instructions/user prompts & select what you want

Now Load the script (V6_SuperCharger_for_Android*.txt/pdf) into Script Manager
and select "Run as Root" (skull and crossbones "Su" icon - it turns green when selected)

Follow instructions/user prompts

when done choose wipe dalvik / Reboot - required if it's your first time SuperCharging the rom.

Check if it works - After reboot, run the V6_SuperCharger script and check the info under the menu.
----------------------

This enabled 75% supercharger on Triumph with this ROM

------------------------------------------
To get to 100% do the Jelly ISCream:

download:
Ultimatic_Jar_Patcher_Tools_RC7_TEST6_ALL_DEX_ALL_OSes_NO_FLASH.zip

from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914159

unzip file to your computer. (i'm running win xp)

run this: ultimatic_jar_patcher_adb.bat

once it finished,
I chose not to reboot but continue to V6 supercharger option and my
supercharge level showed it dropped to 50%, but on dalvik cache wipe and reboot,
then running v6 supercharger again on the phone it's now at 100%

if your usb driver for triumph isn't working in windows (3 unknown USB devices):

I do recommend doing the extra step for that extra 25%...it made a difference.
I couldn't ask for my Triumph to be any faster now....it's great!

So there does appear to be an advantage to V6 Supercharging this awesome ROM.

Does anyone have some insight on the Navigation/maps. When it works it locks instantly when outside and keeps working till you reboot. Now it opens to the navigation splash screen and them FCs. Does anyone know how to make it work or why it freezes?

Latest build, Google now Offline, Gapps symlinked v2.

I'm not sure why it freezes, but I found that if I just uninstall/reinstall Maps, Navigation works again (Edit: open Maps once after reinstalling before opening Navigation). Until the next reboot, of course. But now that everything is set up for me, I really don't need to reboot unless the battery dies on me.

I use NavFree USA as a backup gps, since it doesn't require a data connection. I find myself in the middle of nowhere without reception on my motorcycle pretty often; though I'm usually not lost, it's nice knowing there's something that will get me home just in case. Also, it works fine after a reboot, and I find it seems to drain less power since it doesn't constantly use the data radio.

That said, I love being able to ask GNow for directions, so I still use Maps.

Edit 1: Just tested again, and now Maps won't work at all. NavFree is ok, but unfortunately for for me this means I can't ask GNow for directions unless it miraculously starts working again.

Edit 2: OK I somehow got it to work again; I uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, opened Maps, and now Navigation works again. I'm paranoid about messing with it now, so no more rebooting for me. But give it a shot, hopefully it works for you too.

Hay how does everyone have there dpi setting set to

Since the actual dpi for Motorola Triumph is 227.27 I now use:

Paranoid Settings
Statusbar style: Phone UI
User default UI: Phone UI
System default DPI: 227
User default DPI: 227
System UI DPI: 227

Everything is perfect and centered.

When I'm in the mood for the Navigation bar to be on I use:

Paranoid Settings
Statusbar style: Phone UI
User default UI: Phone UI
System default DPI: 217
User default DPI: 217
System UI DPI: 215

System
Navigation bar: Softkeys checked

Again, everything seems centered and looking good on these settings as well.

Edit: If you guys don't like the tablet look of the settings, you need to change the dpi and UI for the Settings manually. Go to settings < Paranoid Settings < List of apps < ALL then look for Settings and change the UI and DPI there.

Must be an issue with Teamwin. Worked with CWM.

Ok, so the zip was good. Just trying to help you figure it out.

If you get time, can you check to see if the update-binary was the same as the one in the ROM?

That is assuming you used twrp to flash the ROM also.

Just want to add that when I was using CM9, Google now would not work for some reason. I installed the M7 version with this ROM and it works unbelievably well :). Most of my iPhone friends comment that they like Google Now over Siri because it doesn't talk back LOL.

It does talk, but not nearly as much as it did before. I noticed it at the beginning of this year, it's like something happened when year 2013 hit... Google Now went silent (more than before... at least it used to talk a little bit). It'll still talk to me about the weather, but that's about it now.

Thought it was a server error, but at this point it seems intentional. Maybe they're avoiding a law suit or something.

Hey remember when the triumph running froyo would have that volume issue, where it would be louder sometimes then get quiet?

Like if you play music and it seems quieter but volume is up all the way....you could
pause music for 5 seconds then unpause and it got louder?

That seems to be fixed in this rom, but it's on the quieter setting.

Is there any way to make it the louder type?

If not, is the correct procedure to get more volume out of the headphone jack, to run
the dsp manager and just boost all of the eq points up +3 or +6db?

I like to hook it up to my car and that lower max volume isn't cutting it.

Here is an update on how Skype is working on this.

When I use the FFC it works but after like 5 minutes or less I keep having my Wi-Fi disconnect. But when I use the rear camera with Skype it never disconnects me from Wi-Fi only when I use FFC.I looked for errors in the logcat but couldn't find any.Anyone else have this issue?
