S4 For Metro?

Well this is interesting
Cricket's Samsung Galaxy S 4 launching on June 7 for $599.99 | PhoneDog

Cricket will sell it for $599 I'm guessing metro will have it around $550 I understand your point Optimus when we got the phone it was 6 months old however even then it was still more expensive with Verizon and sprint but with the s4 I will say $550 just my opinion.
I hope your right, I just dont understand how smaller carriers are able to subsidize the phone I know most are offered to poorer people so someone has to take the hit in order for more people to be able to get them.

Yeah and with the installment plan is within reach for more people that can't afford full price also I think is a push by Samsung yo win more customers nothing wrong with that :D

Kinda messed up a carrier like Cricket and Cspire is getting the S4 with LESS subscribers than Metro..we need an announcement date already. I'm holding off on getting myself a new phone and in the meantime pulling out my current hair that I have left and not throwing my Connect against a wall.

Gotta remember that tmobile runs the show now they rather have people buy the tmobile one first if I were you I be patient

I think it's the perfect time for someone to use that little Cricket fact as a cricket bat and beat Metro about the head and brow with it on their Faceplant and Shame! them into coming up with a S4 date.

WTH Metro, do you Really want to be the Absolute Last to announce getting the S4?

Anyone?

Bueller?

Lol they want the tmobile clients getting the goods first I rather wait 3 months and pay less

If i could wait for the s4 i could wait for the note 3

Most people I know that currently have Note 2's are holding out for the Note 3.

IMO, the Note 2 is STILL the overall best smartphone out. Samsung got it right with the Note series even though I dont care for the 200GB of software garbage hogging the phone down.

Just root and go with custom rom:D

most phones I feel the same way about. I like custom roms and I go farther and retweak them to fit my needs.

On this one I can understand metro's wait, they were not sure if they would be cdma or gsm at the time s4 was first announced and so when they did get it and it appears it will be gsm they would have had to wait till end of april to set that decision into motion. I dont know how long it typically takes to push the phone through it's testing and approval so I have to give them some benefit of doubt on this release.

Now the next phone on the other hand that one I will be watching closely to see if they drop it in a timely fashion or if its late to the party.

Ahhh.

But WOULD Metro's S4 (now) need ANY testing and approval?

That is IF they used the Already Approved T-Mo phone and simply had Samsung make Metro badged models of it.

I think the S4 comes with Both GSM and CDMA reddyohs, it's the software and/or Sim card that determines which one (both? are) is used.

I would almost bet money that a simply change to the brand placed on the same unit Wouldn't require any new approval other than "stamping some forms".

Unless I'm missing something which Is a distinct possibility. :o

bureaucracy, it always takes time,:p

Actually though for this one, maybe even for the next 2 years I think they would need just slight differences. one might support volte or something?

I don't think Bloatware is part of the approval process. It sure isn't mentioned in any of the submitted paperwork that's on-line.

Yes, Metrocrap would be on it, my point was that it Might Not be necessary for T-Metro to submit a whole new phone to the FCC for Metro's approval.

Your correct the bloat wont be in the approval process but it will, or better be in the wait till we make sure shit works schedule:p or there will be many unhappy customers.

Yes it has been discussed thanks for confirming :) Merged to the metropcs subforum. please continue discussion here. :)
