Root [Boost Mobile] Anyone buy this ZeroLemon 7000 mAh battery?

Best thing I would suggest is following the charging/cycling instructions to a tee, which in short boil down to charging the thing all the way, using it until totally dead, then charging all the way back up for at least five full cycles to train/condition the battery to your phone.

I second that! Be prepared to get into a new mindset, it is a strange adjustment to see your phone on such a low battery number for such a long time once the charge gets used up, but resist the urge to plug it in until the battery reaches 2%. Then a 12 hour charge (ideally overnight, obviously) or else you may get a false 100% charge reading. At the very least, leave it on the charger for about 1-2 hours past the point where it believes it has reached 100%.

I would also suggest checking on the settings that disable the low battery warning behavior in the phone via Wanam if you're running static power ROM. by default the phone rather obnoxiously turns things off like your ability to set the brightness and turns it way down when it thinks the battery is low, which is fine if it were still running the factory battery, but has always seemed nonsensical when the battery is going to last you another half to a full day's worth of use. :p

Battery delivered today. Ordered 12/28. Not bad since New Year's was in there and I paid less than a $1 shipping.

It is very nice. The replacement back is also like a case. Feels good in the hand. I like the extra weight.

Charging it now.

I got mine today too! :D I can't wait to use it tomorrow. Going to charge it for 12hrs over night. The replacement back is a case also because you can't use the stock back so they mixed the two up to create one product. I believe I paid $0.67 for shipping, I could be off by a few.

BIG question for all you Zerolemon owners. I have read that some users have experienced some loss of signal reception due to this battery. Can anyone conform this. The reason I am asking is that I live pretty much off the main grid and my signal fluctuates between 1 and 4 bars. If any of you have experienced any loss of reception, even the slightest, please let me know.

After a good amount of thought, I am seriously considering purchasing this battery. I just want to make sure that it's not going to cause me any sort of signal loss before purchasing it.

Thanks guys,

WB7

I myself have had zero issues with the battery at all. So far (I'm currently at about 7%, still have a while to go) on my first charge cycle I have gotten:

How many days:

Screen has been on for:

This is one of the best things that I have bought it quite a while.

Hi all. I just got this from the Zerlemon company in regards to my letter.

Hello, I am interested in purchasing your 7000mAh battery for my Samsung Galaxy S3 but I have a question before I can make my decision. I have read in several reviews that your battery can decrease signal reception in these phone due to the fact that it is lacking an antenna in the battery itself. I live pretty far off the grid so to speak and my signal fluctuates. I actually get decent reception with the stock battery but thought I would ask this before purchasing your battery. After all, what good is a super battery if I have little to no signal.

Can you confirm without a doubt that your battery will not cause signal loss?

Thank you,

This is what they sent me. Hopefully it may help some of you. :)

NOTICE..... THEY ALSO RECOMMEND USING THE SIGNAL BOOSTER FOR ANDROID FROM PLAY. I THOUGHT THAT WAS INTERESTING.

After trying the 2 app from the developer, both will not work on my phone. Hmmmmm. Found one that will but will it actually work. That's yet to be determined lot. :p

:D

MI First time with the battery. It was 60% charged out of the box. That was Monday night. Took it off Charger Tuesday Morning at 6AM.

It is now on 2% the stats are 4 hours short and at least an hour or more short on screen time. I rebooted once and lost the four hours somehow. You can tell by looking at where the graph starts

About to put in on the charger. I had to try kind of hard to kill it tonight. I need it charged for tomorrow but I won't get 12 hours charge time.

Edit
That last 1% after these shots took another 40 minutes, with the screen on. I put it on the charger with 1% left.

Ok fellas, I just bought a Zerolemon and protective case w/ holster. Thanks Wy, Struckn, Unotlikeme, TheBritton, codezer0, ajnycguy, and anyone else I missed, thanks for the good info on the battery.

See, I told you I change my mind quite frequently. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're gonna love it, guaranteed!! My only issue is that the white case doesn't stay white for long, might have to get just a black case and see if I like the look.

I have the black case and I like it. The white and black contrast like very nice! There's pics online :)

You're going to like the battery life you get...

... "I guarantee it!"

Three days is for wimps, I've been getting 4 or 5 for the most part! Kernel tweaks are still valid by the way, as far as the kernel knows, one battery is as good as another.

Bro, I'm really stoked. I had been thinking about getting one and then I read all of you guys talking how nice the battery was. Wy and I talked about it a good bit and he was the one who finally gave me the extra little nudge to go ahead and get it. I'm looking forward to seeing how well this bad boy preforms.

I need to read up a little more on the break in period because I want to make sure I do it by the book. The battery and the phone case should be here between the 15th and the 21st. I can't wait to get this puppy!! LOL :D

Thanks again to all of you who gave some great advice. I really appreciate it. I have the utmost respect for you guys and the advice you share. I'm not worried one bit about buying this battery even though it's kind of pricey. If you all say it's worth it then I know it is. ;)

One thing is for sure..... it's definitely going to take some getting used to. :)

Man!!! You guys aren't going to believe what they are trying to do to me with this battery!! These are the prices AS LISTED ON AMAZON:

The battery-

$39.99 + $0.69 shipping
In Stock. Sold by Bastexwireless - Authorized ZeroLemon Retailer

The protective phone case-

$19.99 + $0.69 shipping
In Stock. Sold by Bastexwireless - Authorized ZeroLemon Retailer

As you can clearly see, both have a shipping price advertised for .69

WTH! i just had mine shipped to my house. thats some b.s. tho. they should def have some * fine print some where if thats the case!

UPDATE!!

Those people are absolute idiots! Instead of refunding me the $3.62, they cancelled the whole order of $64.98.

I told them I would be happy with just the $3.62 refund on shipping and was actually rather polite about it.

Here's the crazy thing man. I get all my mail at a post office box. I do a good bit of ordering online and a PO Box is the safest way to receive merchandise. That way no scrubs can grab it off my porch or out of my mailbox. It seems that somewhere (not listed on the main page and well out of sight) there is a fee of $2.50 per item when it ships to a PO Box. What's the difference between dropping it off at a house or a PO Box???? It makes no flipping sense to me.

Those people just lost a $64.98 sale over $3.62 worth of shipping!!! LMAO!!! IDIOTS!!!!

I do believe I may just end up going with the Hyperion.

Edit: I do have a friend of mine here in town who owns a cafe and I have had to ship items to her address before because some sellers won't ship to a PO Box. I would like to get the Zerolemon but after dealing in retail for 20+ years and knowing the right and wrong way to deal with customer service, I am very hesitatant to deal with this company again.

I guess i could always buy one off eBay where free shipping is offered with no hidden fees. LOL.

Here's what I was thinking about at work after reading some of your posts:

1. Shipping services such as Ontrac and DHL, used frequently by Amazon, hand off to the post office all the time for the final leg of the delivery, therefore delivering to the post office is technically no big deal and probably not out of the way for the shipper.
2. Amazon wants to involve the post office in their recent Sunday delivery scheme.
3. Let's say that, at the post office or wherever Biker has his PO box, that 20 different people who also use a PO box all had packages coming today; seems to me like making ONE stop to deliver all those packages to ONE building is much more effective than making TWENTY stops for TWENTY different people; therefore why is having a PO box being singled out for special treatment?

That being said, I have about the same time frame of experience as my buddy Biker when it comes to customer service/retail, and even when the customer is wrong (which is clearly not the case here), the customer is still always right. Businesses that can't grin and bear it, or who can't see that not fixing a $3 problem will cost them $65 in immediate revenue and untold amounts more in long term revenue, including from other potential customers thanks to the power of word of mouth and the internet (as is the case here), are making a huge mistake. To this day, there are restaurants and companies who I will not do business with thanks to what may seem like a trivial matter, but still managed to cross a line with me. I am definitely a firm believer in "voting" with my pocketbook!

Ya know. The tiny bit of money was definitely not the issue. For crying out loud Struckn, it was less that $4. LMAO. It all boiled down to principal and ethics bro. I even offered them a win win solution. Refund me the $3.62 and ship my items. SIMPLE bro. Instead, they lost complete sight of what was going on and lost a decent sale due to the price of a cup of coffee. For the life of me bro, what was going on inside that company today will puzzle me for some time to come.

Oh, did I mention that I received 4 emails from them? Each written by a different person. On top of that, I now have to wait 5 to 7 days before my money is refunded. That company may have decent batteries but the people running it are complete idiots. LOL That's almost always ends badly.

Looks like I'll be doing a little more research on batteries. I may go with one of the Hyperions or maybe I'll even find something better. We'll see. It's not that I actually NEED the battery either bro. I've got 2 stock Samsung batteries and both hold a damn good charge. I just thought it would be neat to have a phone that could go several days w/o a change. Oh well, you live and you learn. Maybe the Good Lord was looking out for me today bro and saved me from getting a Lemon, pardon the pun. LMAO. :p:D:thumbup:I

Dang it, Biker, I am sorry you had so much trouble with the ZL idiots. I hope that their stupidity does not reflect upon the long term quality of this product. I am liking it so far.

I do have some thoughts on extended batteries in general.

An extended battery is a good fit for me because of my work schedule and how I use the phone during the week.

It may not be a good fit for everybody.

If you like to test roms and get as close to apples to apples comparison with a normal S3 regarding battery life, it is not.

To me, the ZL battery is too tight a fit to swap in and out very often. It is pretty much in there to stay for me. I suspect that the complaints involving the battery coming apart are related to this.

I think that the Hyperion might not fit as snugly from what I saw in a video. I had a couple Hyperion batteries for my Prevail that were not very good in any way. I hope their extended battery is better.

This battery has actually caused me to completely change the way I think about configuring a phone.

Ever since I got the Prevail in May 2011, it has always been a balance between features, speed and battery life. Battery life usually won out. I always have tried to squeeze as much out of a battery as possible even if I have to give up some good stuff.

Not any more. I really do not mind putting the phone in the Charger each night, but I hate the fact that I HAVE to. There have been many times Late at night after being away from my home and charger for 16 hours that I wanted to use my 3g but I did not want my battery to go dead so I did not. And I might have had 20% left too. Lol. I keep my screen all the way up and I like it. But it drinks the juice.

So, now. I plan to turn on all notifications in all apps, Overclock slightly, Stop Undervolting, use Performance Governor settings, and anything else I can think of.

I don't care if don't get 3 days or more, as long as I CAN get a day and a half without worrying about the phone going dead before I get home.

The break in period is the bad part since I have to go through 6 cycles of completely draining it. I am only in my second cycle, which started this morning.
