HTC DROID Eris OS 2.1v3 download

Oh, did I say Eris? I meant...the Incredible. :D

Sorry surgeon. New leaks is like Christmas time for me and I become a troll posting BS to scare people away.

Always makes people wonder:

Sowwy goiys.

I always appreciate your sense of humor smacky!! :D

The one thing no one is mentioning is battery life. What if this has all those tiny little bugs that were killing the battery? You know, like smoothing out the wrinkles in the OS? It wasn't completely hardware issues that gave it bad battery.

I guess we'll wait a few days for the reports to start rolling in. I'm not banking on it, but I hope...I really do.

I just noticed an awesome new feature pressing menu in the stock browser Gives you a "ignore smacky" option...sweet!

I kid, I kid :p

Is this true? Will I not be able to receive the OTA when (if) it comes out if I use this leak?

sorry for any confusion my statement might have made Noobie. My inability to accept the OTA will be due to a software conflict with an analog hearing aid. Not anything to do with any of the leak not accepting the OTA.

--smacky's statement for the general pop would be accurate.

I noticed that pinch and zoom is not working in the stock browser. Anyone else having this problems?

My wasn't working today and yesturday all of a sudden in 2.1 v2 and same v3 doesn't seem to be working either. Also this does not seem as fast as second leak.

Caddy your first download link... awesome. pulled it at 3.3MBit took all of 30 seconds to download.

Thanks for the version numbers screen shot.

My Question:

What is the best way to back up the phone. Apps are of no concern. What is important is my contacts list. I used the HTC app the first time around but it missed a few things. Is there an all in one tool to back it up?

Seems fine but I will know tomorrow. Have crap written down at work so ill be able to compare. Based on the my battery sucks threads in inc forum doubt it will be much different. Camera shuts down properly now though which was a big problem on my phone before.

smacky said there is live wallpaper support, true or what guys???

EDIT: nvm smacky was just trying to be a dick haha

Live wallpaperswork on some Roms that run senseUI for people that are rooted. Another reason for people that are still on1.5 to look into root before jumping the gun on the leak version

Guys, I'm going to apologize in advance for asking this. I have searched the forums but can't find an answer. I am impatient and don't want to wait unless there is a really good reason not to, but if I flash to v3 will I be able to root it later?

I know this is going to sound ridiculous to you guys, but what exactly will "rooting" my phone do that flashing wont? And if I do find that rooting is

That's why I said wait a couple days. you will know soon if any bugs pop up and while waiting check the root sub forum and make an informed decision. No biggie being new but we dont want you leaping before you look.

No. Hasn't been figured out yet. Wait to install leak version. Look into root in the root subforum.

I'm typing this while I drive cause we want to save you! LOL

When I attempt to download the v3 file from the OP, it takes around 25 minutes (terrible internet) and once the file has fully downloaded, it says "decompression failed" and the file is not available in my downloads. Does anyone know why this is? I downloaded the v2 leak and uploaded it fine. I am using a Mac.

Can I download it directly to my phone, then unzip and install it using AndroZip?

No can't unzip the file. The bootloader does that when installing. Put the file in the root of your sd card. Power down. Hold vol down and power to boot the bootloader. You will be prompted to install the zip.

There's an option in one of the menus to turn on "hearing aid mode". I'm not sure if that enables the echo that you need, though.
