If I get a job, I'm going to need a car. I can't show up all sweaty to work biking 10 miles there.

I don't know what to do.

I can use my gradnmas car, but have to listen to her threaten me with not using it when i need to. You know how parents can be. Don't clean your room. You can't use my car, and don't go to work, and get fired... Though it never happens.

My dad said that once he gets his new car, (Chevy Volt) he will give me his Ford Escape. I'm more into getting as Chevy Camaro, or some Mercedes-Benz. Big lover of Mercedes-Benz.. My dream car.

This is.
CL-Class Luxury Coupe: CL550, CL600, CL63 AMG, CL65 AMG | Mercedes-Benz

Just a dream. Not my reality. I have 99 problems and getting $$$ is all of them.

Wait; aren't you the guy who's going to bike some 300 miles to visit whomever? Ten miles is a stroll in the park, and if you give yourself a little extra time to get there at a leisurely pace, surely you won't be terribly sweaty...

Frankly, I'd worry about landing the job first, then work on logistics.

soozie says...:D lots of people ride their bikes to work! (at least around here) you could always pack a backpack and give yourself a little extra time to freshen up and change your clothes when you get to work.

That lightning strike did effect you!! :D:D That was a very logical suggestion. :D:)

Yes. I plan to bike 300 km. 180 miles. Just have a hard time getting the time for training. My sister has been taking my bike to work so I have nothing to ride.

Had to go get my drivers license renewed today. Wasn't sure if I would be able to pass the eye exam this time, so I bought some reading glasses just in case. I passed it ok without them, but doubt I'll be able to next time (four years from now). I've always had perfect vision until the last year or two, now I've had to concentrate harder when reading. Getting older sucks.

How old is that? :what:

Apparently, it's because the lenses in your eyes never stop growing and as they get bigger, they get harder for the eye muscles to distort in order to change focus.

And it's a b**** ;)

I have to take a client's secure laptop (they're a bank) home every once in a while, it's totally locked down so I can't change anything and the font size is tiny. Even with my reading glasses, I struggle to read half the stuff on the screen. Not helped by the fact I use it for on-call so I'm usually trying at like 4am

She owes people a lot a money. She has to pay lawyers, her school, and me back $700 before she can even begin to have something nice.

Who said anything about something nice?

You can pick up a generic frame with wheels for $50 at a yard sale.

Seriously, my commuter when I was a kid was a $100 steel-frame from Montgomery Wards. The kicker of it is, even though the price of everything else is literally ten times as much as it was back then, you can still buy a new bike at Wal-mart for $100. That's like past me saving up my allowance two and a half months and throwing down a ten-spot for a new ride.

I drive by yard sales every week where there is at least one 20" and a 24" or 26" for sale. I'm not saying buy her a full roadie kit, but even a crappy generic '10 speed' will get her to and from work and you riding your bike where you need to go.

Sorry, heading off into an entirely different thread there.

Random thought-- don't forget to have your pet mice spayed and neutered...

I really think that reading on these phone screens all the time is hard on the eyes. A whole generation is going to start going blind by age 30 lol.

Which is the reason I want an eReader. Does Android have some eink display that I can use with Google Play books?

You may want to look at the e ink nooks. They're pretty hackable Android devices. Once you have root you can do all sorts.
