I'm not wrong. I wasn't implying that he/she was stupid or something and I absolutely was implying that it was the first option I listed as to why the root wasn't working correctly because in his second post he/she said

Is everyone forgetting I listed a second one? Which is why I replied to how am I wrong if the second option I listed was correct?

What make sense in any forum is to share information, hobbies, ideas, etc. I also think that treating someone disrespectfully ultimately only leads to waste time and, therefore, having absurd quarrels with impolite people is a something that is still worth less than nothing.

In short, do not worry, it is not worth spending a second more. Thank you for your kind words.

As far as I know there are two different versions of LG Optimus F6 D505, with 8 GB and 4 GB of internal storage. My phone has 4 Gb and out of the box it had 3 GB free.

I could move most apps both in JB and KK but KK does not allow apps to write data on the SD card. This is a Kit Kat's gift. What is more, some apps not even start as, for example, Sygic if the maps are in the external storage.

Some apps, for example Beyondpod, use some workaround to work. To recover the normal functionality as in JB used to be I had to do as follows:

1.- Install towelroot
2.- Install Superuser from Play Store
3.- Execute "Make it Ra1n" in towelroot
4.- Install https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...=nextapp.sdfix

Summing up: Since with the KK provided by LG LED, notices does not work properly with third party apps in some cases, in other cases ARJ does not work, and it is less fluid than JB, there are users willing to undo the update.

Before anything else, sorry for my english, I'm a french guy and I don't master english language ^^

I've searching for a serious forum about this LG505 since a long time, but none was efficient... Hopfully, this one seems great!! :D
I have this great phone since few months and Android KK since few weeks. I find that this upgrade is pretty good for me, but there's one bug since this upgrade : I can't no more send png pictures via mms.
It's very prejudicial with quickmemo. Before, I could take pictures, writting on it and sent them directly, now I must convert the png's picture on jpg format...
Have you any idea to resolve this issue?

Another questions :
1/ Could we adjust the led notification? There are some applications on the playstore for that, but they don't work on my D505...
Is there somebody who knows how to adjust that? For example one color for one contact? :)

2/Before this KK upgrade I couldn't root. Now, I've half-fully succeed with towelroot, but it's a temporary root (after each reboot, I have to redo the root) Besides, SUperUser can't update. (However, root's application work normaly...)
How can I get a full root? (I have the D505 european version)

3/Can we adjust the knock on's sensitivity? I love this option but sometimes it's both too sensitive or too tough for activated...
For example, when my phone is off, I just have to place it on table and the screen turn on!!
But on the opposite, when the screen is on, I can tap double-tap on the "task-bar" all my soul, the phone never turn off... And sometimes, soft double tap at the same place and it's ok...
So, can we, adjust the sensitivity of this option?

sorry mate, this forum is for the american version of the phone, we have not recieved the 4.4.2 update, we ported your version, and we have the same issues we havent fix anything lol LED control works for me in the port i dont know if its the same, but this forum is not for your version sorry, although we might help since some of us have the 4.4.2 port

This thread is in a general F6 forum, not specific to 500 or 505. The root sections, however, are specific. @Roronoa unfortunately I don't believe there are any developers here on this forum that have access to a D505 to create ROMs/recovery etc. I'm sure there are some specific forums for D505 out there.

so, if i need root just to install sdfix, i can root and sdfix will work and i can write to sd from apps and fix won't undo?

1. For me, LED is broken for 3rd party apps (will not blink UNTILL I wake the screen, then lock it again, and if notification is not removed, it blinks. Bummer.)
Yet, built in apps work well with LED. Call, SMS, stuff.
In contacts, you edit a contact, and at the bottom, there is LED color, you assign a color, and when you receive SMS/call from that person, there's blue/red/whatever color LED for you.
2. same problem, too lazy to actually root it, can't install drivers on my PC, so I gave up.
3. shortly, no. Just turn it off. It's terible. :D

I can't answer you precisely because with my D505, writting on SD works perfectly.
But try to root with towelroot. Verify with rootchecker that the root is ok. Then, try sdfix to fix your problem.
In my case, except SuperUser which can't upgrade, others root's application work. If yours don't, try again.
I had the application "adaway" that didn't work the first time. I tried it again (without change anything) and all's gone great!
One important thing : If you root and rootchecker says it's ok, don't restart your phone! You will loose your root access.

Giga thanks mate!!!! For the point 1/, I was a dumb one!!! I didn't paste my contacts on the phone, they were on the sim! That's why I couldn't change the color of the LED!
A classic mistake, and ME, RORONOA, fell on it! What a shame!!! :D

For point 2/ : Have you the right drivers? I remember that there're 2 type of driver. The right one is ADB Interface. If you have only the "composite" one, that won't work...

Point 3/ ! Noooooo!!! I can't turn knock on mode off! I love it!! :smokingsomb: But it's frustating that sometimes its works perfectly, other times, it's "jerk powa"! :D
When the phone is off : It's work great with double tap on the back. But it's too sensitive, too bad...
When the phone is on : It's work perfectly with double tap on screen's home's empty screen. But double tap on the task bar doesn't work every time... SOmetimes, it's perfect, sometime, it's beuuuuuuuurk! Too bad, but tough, it's a great option! :)

successfully rooted D505 KK with towelroot, however, root goes away after reboot, but i needed root only once for sdfix on this device. thanks all for great thread & hard work and helping! :)
 
Just wanted to say thanks for this thread, it at least gives us in the U.S. some hope. Also the honest review about the performance and other updates lacking is also interesting. I'm hoping LG released it on EU version first as a testing grounds before handing over more updated versions to U.S. carriers for testing.

hi, i have a d505. After 1 month with kk i'm back to jb, because I have not noticed any benefit (only bugs). The perfomance are equal, i prefer KK only for the graphic of incoming calls

it's up to you. better battery life, logically improved interface on KK side... yes, perf is equal, who claimed it should be faster tho? i haven't noticed ANY single bug on KK on D505... :rolleyes: all things works like a charm...

Indeed, if the led not works with this sort of apps (facebook or whatsapp) it's not a big deal, it's just an obvious evidence that's those apps are jerk! :D

More seriously, one bug with this KK version annoys me : it's impossible to send .png format in mms, while before, that's worked perfectly.
I've already mentioned it, but I can't find a solution, it's a (giga)bit frustating!!! ;)

Anyone have a solution for this? I don't want the conversion solution (png to jpg) I would like a REAL solution ^^
