Root [MetroPCS] [ROM] KitKat 4.4.2 NEW BETA 4

What are the two methods you are using?

Personally I use link2sd plus.

Even if your not using that method download link2sd from the play store. DoNt do anything except click on storage information, and send a screenshot.

Or post what it says , and I'll try to help
 
I did what the OP said to do for data but I don't see lte or even 4g for my data. My data isn't working at all. Any help please. I don't know if it's because there is no APN or what.
 
Should update OP to read BETA 5

Sure hope Game Theory or someone else releases an optimized Freedom Kernel or such for these KitKat ports.

Do you live in an area with LTE? LTE will show as 4G icon.

Did you change the build.prop operator string to "=TMO"

Did you input the correct APN settings for your network?

I have metropcs. What would I put instead of TMO? And what file is the build.prop located?

You didn't answer all of my questions. If you had LTE on 4.1.2 but do not on KK then it's an issue with settings. The method in OP and the one I mentioned will both work; I've personally tested both. Metro and TMO are similar, it doesn't really matter which of the two you pick.

APN settings: T-Mobile internet & MMS APN settings | T-Mobile Support

Build.prop edit: "ro.build.target_operator=OPEN" to =TMO

or follow the OP method
 
Try reinstalling the stock rom and then reinstslling the kitkat rom and when it boots up go to the dialler and tpye in " *#*#4636#*#*" try changing the data to lte only go to browser and see if it connects . If it does go back to the dialler retype what i said earlier and change the setting to lte/gsm/wcdma. I hope this works cause it worked for me
Lte will not show up in notification bar only shows as 4g
 
Hey dont want to be a pushover but it would be cool if you can replace the camera app with the stock one that came with the phone or if you can tell me how i can swith apps out and delete the ones i dont want i am a noob at these things and i really love the kitkat beta its ******* awesome!!!

Im on beta5 and when i did the build prop edit. Its shows the 4gLTE icon, have you tried it yet?
 
Oh. What I did was just go back to page 9? I don't remember the exact page, but its on this thread. And it worked out great :)

i remembered it....he said he can only install from the sd ...not from play......

ha ha ha ha...i am in the same boat (not saying i am as cool) ....sooooo...

the big question is.....does the phone dump what you dl but cant install?

i'll have to explore since i can install what i find in solid form and not dl from play....i still have a world of things to choose from ....

This is what worked for me i'm just sharing everything i need regardless if i didn't need to do all these steps or if there was a shortcut for example just change open to TMO etc etc.

FIRST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq5LyE35YUg Watch this here then fix the APN settings someone posted the video earlier in the forums so read back if you will.

SECOND: *#*#4636#*#* type that in like your going to call someone. Then click Phone information then you should be able to change it To LTE/WCDMA

THIRD: Build Prop. copy this build prop to your F6's build prop(get root explorer and go to system/then build prop then save it and restart your phone

Four: Go to settings, then go to tethering & networks then click mobile networks click Network mode and then you should be able to change it to GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto and then your 4G LTE Works :)

Hope i helped anyone who was clueless you can chose to use all my steps i just did a little extra to ensure my LTE works because, this Beta has been my personal favorite because of the stock camera! ALSO these steps have been posted before, just some people don't want to look and i just put all of them together to what i know.
 
Hi, installed this rom and it's just perfect! But 941 error in play market is little annoying. Tried to clean the cache of different apps. Nothing working.
Any ideas?

I am having only one issue with this ROM. 😃. I am able to text without issue, but it won't send if there is an attachment. It has this message. "Currently unable to send your message. It will be sent when the service becomes available." What could be the solution? Any help would be helpful.
