Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

For the rural area where I used a hand crank, you cranked out short-long sequences that would indicate to others on the local circuit if the call was to them or the operator.

Everyone's phones on the circuit rang at once and you minded your own business if it wasn't your ring.

You didn't have to crank for the local circuit if you didn't need to. If two or more of you picked up the earpiece, you were live - to talk and listen.

That was the original party line.

For telephones. Party line for telephones.

What grinds my gears is that getting yelled at for suggesting that I take it apart and improve it still echoes...

Even then I wanted more access.

So did this help or hurt when you needed to alert your town that the confederate army was approaching? :p

Air quotes.
The quotes on this sign at my local grocery store. I almost wish I had a giant marker so I could write "You're welcome" on the sign (but that would be wrong!) Or maybe I could add quotes around Cub or the tagline after it on the sign.

People who can't drive but who sit behind the steer wheel like they're the best drivers and truly believe I am doing it all wrong.

I was just talking about people taking a corner and while they do not stay on their own roadhalf (sorry don't know how to put it in english) and people who think their car is bigger than it is and people who don't give way and such...

I await the grief counselor. Today has been stressful, and though it's beginning to improve - allow us to hope that the positive path continues.

After this, we're going to an aluminum recycling center. We're in Smithfield, NC (home of the salt-cured hams), and the place we take our soda cans to is called OmniSource.

They are an operation based in Texas, and they bought out the Smithfield Recycling Co. late last year.

If only I had some brass, or some copper. That'd be a fine payday.

My rant for today is: radio talk show hosts. We won't get into naming names, but, they bash anything that opposes their point of view, and they look down on less-fortunate people like myself like we're the scourge of the Earth.

I didn't ask for my life to end up the way that it has. I'm trying to get the help that I need, in order to improve my situation.

Especially since I was a taxpayer for going-on 40 years.

May everyone share a little love, and mercy.

I'm thinking that I am glad that a) I don't generally watch videos; and b) my laptop is muted

... meh; I've heard worse. At least she isn't leaning on the autotune. Sounds kinda like a heavily watered-down Stevie Nicks.
