HTC DROID Eris OS 2.1v3 download

Hi everyone. I just registered on this forum to provide some confidence to all of the folks sitting on the v3 fence. I flashed my Eris a few days ago. It is working perfectly. The whole process went smoothly and I am now jammin with the 2.1. I have no regrets, there is nothing I have found that makes me regret the decision. I do have the 50% bug, but it has zero effect on my battery.

I have a good friend that works for HTC. He told me v3 made it through Verizon QA this week. HTC was asked to make some minor tweaks to the radio before locking down the final. It will not be pushed to your phone. You will have to DL the ROM and follow the flash process. The way I figure, flashing v3 is great practice! ;)

I really want to believe you, but too many people seem to have friends that know someone who knows someone who knows someone that works for htc or vzw and they say "it's coming tomorrow at 12pm" and so far all of it has turned out to be bullshit.
Now, for the record I'm not calling you a liar. On the contrary, I really do hope you're right. For now I'm running 2.1 v2 with no real complaints but kinda on the fence on weather to bump up or just wait a few more days/weeks. It seems like there are alot of people that are having issues with v3.

my father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate works for VZW, HTC, and Google and he says we're all boned as far as updates go. he expects the update to come a week after all 2.1 conversations end because everyone's given up....

all jokes aside, i dont expect the 2.1 update to turn into starcraft 2...it probably wont take THAT much longer. maybe another few months, but we should have it by mid-year, considering how most other update schedules seem to run even when delayed

And I see your schwartz is as big as mine.

Has anyone had any issues with the actual phone app? Sometimes, people call me and I can't hear them but they can hear me. I have to reboot the phone. I fear it is a hardware issue... I just want to see if anyone else is having this issue. It never happened on 1.5

known and constant issue on 2.1 leaks. sometimes youll get it six times a day, sometimes not once in a week. very odd but we all get it i think

This is a hardware issue, it's believed to be "unlocked" some how by 2.1 software. Not sure how exactly, but if it's a problem you can get it swapped out under warranty for being hardware issue.

I was having this issue with V3, but I went ahead and uninstalled any apps that I was not absolutely using or needed - I have not had this problem since - I'm no expert, but as some of these apps do monitor phone functions -

When vampires become mods, we are just a few steps away from a zombie apocolypse! Congrats OTD!

I was going to ask her if her promotion to moderator here is.. (long, tension-building pause.......) some sort of .... (keep tension building to a critical mass!.... )..

I'm new to this forum but I've been reading the forums over at android central for quite a while. I just want to say thanks to Caddyman for posting this leak. I've been using it since Tuesday and have had 0 problems. I just found this over at android central.Software Update: DROID Eris by HTC<br>Coming Soon! This is the same version I downloaded from here software 2.36.605.1 radio 2.42.00.04.12. This would explain why I have not had the bugs that some people are having. I had noticed that most of you had different software versions.

doogald just beat me to it!

I do have the 50% bug, but it has zero effect on my battery.

The 50% bug...I am beginning to wonder if this is in fact a bug. This *issue* also seems to appear in the Incredible. However, the Incredible seems to drop or suspend 3G when it is not in use. My theory is that inside 2.1 there is a *switch* native to the firmware that does this and that it may not be *fully cooked* for adaptation to the Eris.

EDIT: Hopefully with the imminent update approaching that this is fixed in the Official release.
