Also when using your method in the video there is nothing in the data folder to erase
Open SuperSU and go into SuperSU's settings. If you haven't bought the pro version, you will see an option to enable pro features even though you don't have the pro version unlocker. Turn on pro features.

Next, in SuperSU's settings, find the logging setting and set it to log full content then clear the old logs and reboot the phone.

Next, once you have restarted the phone, open Broken Switcher and hit the button to pull images, then hit the write to system button.

Go into SuperSU in the logs area of the app and you should see 4 log entries from Broken Switcher. If you click on them it will show the commands being used by the app along with any error messages being returned.

Take screenshots of all 4 log entries and post them here. They will almost certainly tell why the app isn't working.

Hi guys

Does anybody has a backup or Stock ROM of the Grand X Max ? because I have my Grand X Max bricked and I found a method for unbricking Qualcomm phones but the original ROM its needed for this process.

Here is the site of the unbricking method that I mention :
http://www.androidbrick.com/unbrick...-you-have-the-right-kind-of-rom-qhsusb_dload/

The tool that is used for the ZTE phones is the ZTEMT ToolStudio
I don't have the original but in the article it says it doesn't work on locked bootloader. The max plus boot loaders are locked.

Fun stuff... Cricket just did an update (probably an update to their modem), it downloaded, then twrp never allows these updates. Where on the phone did it download for us to install it manually?

What are the contents in the zip? Always look under /cache. If it's not there let me know.

I wouldn't trust it I don't want my phone bricking or losing root I'm just postponing mine indefinitely.

Well... they did an update to the modem about 3 months ago and I lost the ability to sent MMS.
I have tried to reset the APN to theirs, no go.
Does anyone have an update to the APN?

Hold on, Have you installed it? Because if not, just force stop the "Software Update services".

so 3 months ago you updated the modem and lost MMS right? Now your trying to fix it with the new update correct? Can you flash back to stock and try again?

My phone was stolen Saturday, luckily I had insurance on it. Unfortunately the grand max+ is discontinued. The service rep said they upgraded my phone to the new max 2 and it will be at my door tomorrow or Thursday. There's no known root method for that phone. I'm hoping there will be one soon though. Its been fun guys :)

Welp I give up, I have 5.1 on my max+. I've been rooting androids since the original droid came out(where you have to manually go into terminal and write the root script yourself) and for the life of my i cant get this damn thing rooted. Tried every version of Kingroot, followed MasterChiefs instructions about clearing the cache/data reboot. Done that about 15 times, tried a older KR version, same process. Nothing.
Am I missing something?
Thanks

Due to you already installing 5.1 there is no known root for that version, Sorry but you are pretty much stuck with the stock rom.

Would it be possible to flash KitKat once the phone is rooted and two installed? Don't ask me why, but I really want to go back to KitKat

Has anyone with a Grand X Max+ Z987 tried THIS yet? @hroark13 recently discovered an incredibly easy method to disable the system write protection on the zte zmax and several other zte devices. This eliminates the need for switcher zips, apps, or scripts that flash the boot.img to the recovery partition.

If it works on the z987 all you should need to do is open terminal emulator or adb shell and enter the following command.

reboot disemmcwp

Your phone should reboot and have system rw that will persist across hard reboots and even factory resets. Hopefully it works for you guys too!
