yes several people. I am one of them.
then, ah, you don't need to dl it again
lol, i figured this much...but i don't see 1.bat in my tools folder (obviously). can i just run adb shell from my currently installed sdk and then 1.bat from his files (to push the files), or do i need to uninstall/reinstall using the version he posted?
I have 77 as well, and I'm getting no love with the stock 2 gb card, or Sandisk class 6 8gb. I may try one other computer then go to wal-mart to find that PNY card.
Go back and get the 2 GB one... I used my girlfriends 4 GB one this afternoon and was unable to get the process (either way outlined on the video) to work. Coworker grabbed a 2 GB PNY over his lunch and I was able to get root within minutes. Mine on the 2nd attempt, his on the first.
Are you just using the method shown in the video or have you other things?
yeah, if you go through the vid, he does a decent job (although pretty fast) at explaining everything. if you already have the sdk, skip the beginning where he is installing everything. don't worry about htc sync either, i don't have it installed.
what he does have in his sdk file though are all of the other files you'll need already in the tools folder, superuser.apk, busybox, etc. as well as a text file with all the cmd prompts to just copy and paste. very user friendly
I deleted my sdk, used his and only installed the packages relating to 2.1 and the usb drivers.
Didn't work for me either, always never got the adb shell to find my device

Okay, so I went and got the 2GB PNY card from wal-mart, came back and had no luck. Kept trying, and one time I pulled the battery, but the screen on my phone stayed on, with the /!\ recovery screen, I pressed power + voldown and it went right back to HBOOT without the screen ever turning off, selected recovery and this time I was in business. Everything from there out was pie, just wish we could figure out the inconsistency of adb in recovery.
To all the people that still can't get it to work, try this video, it looks kind of promising.
