Ok, i've had my droid since, i believe last november, and it has been great. I recently got it switched out because of a button problem. I got a new phone, and man, that one was great...until i got the looping boot restart problem. I've never had a problem with it before, and i took that back and same thing happened to that Droid....What does this mean?

I believe there is an or apps out there that are not mingling very well with the 2.1 update. I DO NOT know WHICH app i downloaded that may have caused the problem or if an app is even causing the problem, i don't want to blame app developers or anything BUT, i tried the Hard Reset this droid and did not download any apps as of yesterday, and it seems to be running just fine. Below is my app list that i used to have:

AK Notepad- Easy, simple notepad app, the best one in my opinion

AnyCut
- Lets you make a shortcut out of pretty much anything, i.e, phone contact, txt contact etc..

:DAstro File Manager- Pretty self explanatory, allows you to manage your file, windows type style

:DG-Backup Full (Paid)- Free version is a trial, it was so good i actually bought it, backs up all your sms/mms type of messages to your gmail account

I Music- GreenCode Allows you to download music directly to your Droid, one of the BEST reasons to own a Droid/Android phone in my opinion ( will post link to where to get after work )

:DMeebo IM- Have all your IM accounts in one spot , i.e AIM, Facebook, Myspace etc..

MyBackup- Backs up all your contact to your gmail account

:DRingDroid- edit/cut parts of your favorite songs and allows you to set them as Ringtone or Notification, used in conjunction with Imusic and BAM! Iphone what!?

ShopSavvy- Awesome Barcode Scanner

SportsTap- If your into sports, this is the app to keep you updated on all sports related news

Taskiller- Apps slowing things down? Get this to free up space, full version is completely free, even has a nice choice of a small widget or large widget that allows one button app kills!

I will keep yall updated as i will be adding these apps in day by day one at a time as to eliminate which app was causing the problem, IF any at all were...

UPDATE: :D= App has been successfully installed for over one day with no problems whatsoever

Slower. Live wallpaper nice but shifty between home screens and had some fc's. No voice dial from bluetooth. Random missing contacts. Caller info still shows when called and in call log but not in phonebook. Restore from sd and now I get my contacts back but under each contact it shows mutiple duplicate info sets. Gmail updates junk for me from the start. Voice to text so far so good. Adobe sure is taking their sweet ass time. Eh... all in all was expecting more even for a stock setup.

I have the Yahoo! duplicate sent mail problem. I have sent 1 email from Yahoo! email. I have hundreds of copies in my sent mail folder! I won't use my Droid for email until problem is fixed. Each day I try to empty a few pages of this email, but I don't know how many I have-sort of hard to tell. May be about 1000. Boni

I received the 2.1 update for my Droid yesterday. Everything works fine except I noticed a difference between 2.0.1 and 2.1 when playing back a video (mpeg4) that is recorded at 720 x 480 pixel resolution. I am not 100% sure of this, but I believe that prior to the 2.1 update, when playing back these videos (highest resolution for the Droid), the picture used to fill up the entire screen. Now, under 2.1 there is a black border around the image (all sides) and the image is smaller. I seem to recall thinking how beautiful these videos looked and now I am kind of disappointed. Has anyone else run into this under 2.1 or am I mistaken about how it was in the older releases?

Just checked, this did not happen to me - the problem may be in the screen resolution, the Droid's screen is 854 x 480, but I think you're supposed to actually convert it to 848x480 (i forgot why), anyways so that could be the problem (my videos use that resolution and there is no border).

UPDATE: I think i found out which app might be causing the problem. I recently downloaded a Zelda Soundboard...it's the one with Navii the lil fairy. Now, i JUST changed my Notification sound to one of those and BAM! i got an incoming txt and the Droid reverted back to the evil Rebooting cycle...

Now, im not sure if its the actual App OR, just changing the Notification sound that is messing with my Droid, but as a process of elimination, i deleted the Soundboard and now everything seems to be working just fine...just a heads up for all yall

Got my phone on March 25 and kept it stock. Applied the update when the update.zip was up for download here and now whenever I start up my google voice app it opens up two windows of my inbox. It started the day I upgraded. I've done a completely fresh uninstall/install and it didn't make a difference. I still get two windows.

I ended up with the same problem . Does anyone have a fix for this?

check your yahoo mail on your computer... if you switch to the new version of yahoo mail, you can delete 25,000 emails at a time. then you can switch back to classic yahoo mail. it comes in handy when you're closing in on a million duplicates in your sent items. heh.

But yeah, avoiding using your yahoo email on your droid is a good idea - stick with gmail until it gets worked out. (although, it was supposed to be worked out in 2.1. meh.)

Apparently the new gallery does not do very well if you have a whole lot of pictures and videos on the phone.
I had a similar problem when I installed the new Gallery app under 2.0.1. I realized it had performance issues making all the thumbnails so I gave it a leg-up by pre-converting all my pictures to the Droid screen resolution size. You can see my previous post above.

Under 2.0.1 the new Gallery still had performance issues after my resizing, but it worked much better. Now that I've received the 2.1 update the new Gallery is now blazing fast and reliable. I suggest you resize your pictures to be no larger than 480x854. A side benefit is that the order you convert (re-write) the photo files is the order in which the photos appear.

Three times now under 2.1, while using a static wallpaper, my icons disappeared, leaving naked wallpaper. This never happened under 2.0.1. I haven't figured out a pattern yet of what I was running.

I needed to remove the battery to get them back. I could swipe left and right and see the wallpaper shift, but the other two screens were devoid of icons as well. I tried simply rebooting and my Droid came up empty.

Home screen icons disappearing and have to restart phone to fix... the only other thing is the keypad during phone calls is very buggy. Its really a pain when you need to enter numbers and the keypad is not prenent. Other than that I love my droid and can't wait for flash update!

During the call, just press the keypad icon to the right. Number pad will appear. It is suppose to be like that.

I have had the same issue with disappearing icons and have let it sit for at least 30 mins and they do not come back without a reboot, very strange happens at least 2 times a day. If it keeps happening I am calling Verizon for a replacement.

You must have a lot of apps running in the backround. Try using ATK or Big Killer to kill the backround apps. Android stops the least needed apps when memory is low.

Had same issue. Changed wallpaper, all icons/wigets disappeared. Decided just to repopulate home screens. Ended up rebooting for a different reason. My previous home screens returned underlapping the new icons/wigets! Weird.

The first week after the update, I didn't notice any lag, even with Live Wallpaper (Grass) - also did not notice any speed improvement either (which some reported). The last week or so now, I've been noticing it be laggy when switching screens or opening the apps drawer.

I was really hoping that they would have addressed some of the bigger issues that have been plaguing many people (bluetooth dialing (maybe it's a droid thing and not a google thing?), yahoo mail duplicate items, etc.), but I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they get us a 3.x update (or abandon us).

I've had to stop using the built-in email program due to the multiple item issue with Yahoo. Instead, I just use the notification that I have new mail and use Yahoo's Mobile Mail interface: m.yahoo.com/mail . Works very nice and you have access to your folders and everything. Just put a shortcut on your screen and you're good to go.

To all you guys experiencing LED notification problems, is your screen on when you got the notification? its normal on 2.1 it no longer blinks your led if its on since it shows on the bar, it only does it when the screen is off/locked.

I understand that this was designed in. Has anyone heard if there is a way to access a setting to put it back the way it was? I've even turned Missed Call back on, but the new feature is blocking apps from using the LED too.

I've noticed that the response navigating and opening programs is a little slower with 2.1. Maybe because I use Live Wallpapers.

My weather widgets don't seem to update as often as they used to. The News and Weather widget at time doesn't even display the temp.

I did download the update from a guide on this forum maybe I should have waited for the OTA update.
