Root 2.2 Source released

D13

Android Expert
Based on the fact that this source code requires root to install I have decided to move ckochinsky125's original 2.2 source thread to the root forum and also merge it with my source thread...

Thanks

Holy crap on a cracker, that's exciting. Though to be honest I don't know much about Froyo, it just sounds new and shiny. The speed boost sounds nice, though.

well, maybe now the voodoo project devs can concentrate on the color fix now that 2.2 is on its way, we shouldn't need the voodoo lag fix anymore

Sorry it took me so long to make my way in here to comment I fainted when I heard the good news :p J/K
But seriously this is incredible news. Word at xda is already that birdman [renowned if you dont know the name] might have it out for SF this week.
Voodoo isnt going away however. So it will probably take a few weeks, but someone mentioned Nov 1. With this news and with what Im gleaning from xda and with how fast we know the dev's are. I almost expectby Nov 1 we will have a Froyo/Voodoo lag and color/1.3-1.4Ghz package

Not exactly. Dirrk himself said it best over at xda
Since when did a rom decide how to format you're file system at boot? AOSP has nothing to do with the voodoo fix. What we got today, was source for a working 2.2 kernel so we can build from source and use voodoo.

Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Good news is knowing how fast these guys work like I said above I humbly expect to take my kids trick or treating with a 1.3Ghz+, completely voodoo'd, Froyo running SF
