Glad to see this thread so I don't have to try to read thru +6,900 replies to find info on this topic.
I upgraded to 2.2 early this week and immediately noticed my battery (1300) was toast quick, my phone was HOT sitting in my pocket doing nothing. Found that task killers don't do squat with 2.2 so uninstalled it. I fully charge my Incredible at night and at work at 8AM with moderate use I'd be at 50% or so by the time I left around 5:30PM. Not anymore.
Today is a prime example as my phone was fully charged this morning, got to work at 8AM. Haven't do anything with my phone except put it on vibrate so it wouldn't ring. Nothing else, and I mean nothing. Now 3 hours later I looked at my phone and my battery is around 50%. 3 hours with NO USE AT ALL.
This has to do with Wi-Fi doesn't it. I noticed everyone who connects to the internet frequently through Wi-Fi is experiencing MAJOR power drain.
Put ARod on the D/L again please!! Lost 2 in a row since he's back after winning 8 straight. HR or not, give him the hook for now......I use it to listen to Internet radio or use SlingBox to watch my Yankees play......

Seriously...it disappoints the hell out of me that HTC didn't factor battery life issues into the 2.2 update seeing as this is the main complaint its customers have had about the phone.
Also, please don't come at me with the "task killers are useless" replies. I'm not advocating them, I just know ATK works for me. Good luck all...
Factory reset reduced lag time on many apps, internet, etc.....but did NOT help battery life. Hardly the "end of thread".
in case anyone is having the same issue. i just recieved a response from the bug report i sent in about this:Is anyone's else having last.fm issues? It randomly skips tracks for me now and never has before the update. Supposedly this can happen if you don't have a good enough data connection, so I'm wondering if I'm getting a poorer signal with froyo installed. I have noticed my 3g bars look about 1less in the places I frequent, but I don't know if I'm imagining things, and the internet seems to perform the same.
last.fm developer said:This is a bug with the new media player framework in latest version of Android (Froyo). We're currently working with Google to resolve this issue.
