2.x rumors and discussions

I think mid 2010 is a long ways away. I also think some people who are already annoyed with the phone will have got rid of it and got a new phone.... Ill wait it out. I like the phone either way

A quote from today's MT3G Fender edition stated they hope to have it out this Spring for the Fender Edition...which is the exact same phone hardware wise.

how is that negative? it is just a rumor..when it becomes fact, then thats when i will believe

This is probably a stupid question but can you use the 2.1 release for the hero on the mytouch? what is the difference in the platforms between the different android htc phone models?

ok with the recent press release of the mytouch fender edition and its mention of a 2.1 upgrade this spring do you believe it?

T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition announces comeback tour – Android and Me

is it a ploy , just to get some people to buy the phone? still no OFFICIAL word from tmobile however so i have a hard time believing it

what do you think a press release is, BigMERF? It doesn't get more "OFFICIAL" than a press release.

Here's the the press release right on the tmo site:
http://www.t-mobile.com/company/PressReleases_Article.aspx?assetName=Prs_Prs_20100114a&title=Rock%20Out%20With%20the%20New%20T-Mobile%C2%AE%20myTouch%E2%84%A2%203G%20Fender%E2%84%A2Limited%20Edition

anyway, all this does is confirm it's coming for the Fender edition. But I think this is a good sign that we'll be getting 2.1 as well...hopefully.

Hopefully indeed.. From what I understand the Fender Edition has a bit more RAM than the regular MT3G. Not sure if that would be real issue or not.

bingo, you hit it on the nose. i know they have announced it for the fender but maybe i should have been more specific. i meant there has been no official announcement about the rest of the mt3g's

by the way notice that they used these exact words

"The Fender Limited Edition, which runs Android 1.6, is expected to be updated to Android 2.1 this spring."

really, I dont give a damn! my mt3g is working well :-)
i feel bad for everyones who isnt. I know what its like to have a phone thats suppose to be the shit and have it not be. I went through 4 blackberry storms in 1 year. It was super annoying and irritating

I just got the MyTouch 3G Le (fender edition)... I have had two TMO reps state that the update is coming by the end of Q1... I also heard that there will be a new MyTouch 3G coming out in the next month or so (32A version same as the MyTouch 3G Le, but with out the Sunburst Finish...

With that said I have been doing a lot of research, and the word on the streets is that TMO reps are not that credible... But I believe that the MT3G Le and the new MT3G (32A) will get the update, by the end of Q1... now the previous gen MT3G's I have not found anything that seems credible... 32B...

(Please Dont Hate I am new hear)... so far I am really enjoying the MT3G LE...

it seem the nexus 1 go a update today :(
it basically just multitouch support in some apps....
i mean the least they can do is give us that but i guess not :(

dont get me wrong im happy with my mytouch but tmobile / Htc seem to neglect the early adopters to android, they should have enabled this features in all of their phones because all of them are capable.... also they should update the music player and the gallery too...or at least give us the fender music player....

This thread will never die..

Well, any way you look at it, it's sad. By the time it does come out, I'll have moved onto another Android device just due to my constant need for the next big fix :p I kill myself :D

Personally, I don't care if it comes tomorrow or next month, I think it will happen. It also took what seemed like forever before we got 1.6 for the G1.

If by some cruel fate Google decides that the MT is not best suited for 2.x, then I think it still a good phone and stable and smooth operating.

I have had none of the complaints and issues with it that have been lamented here in the MT threads.

So, for now, I keep thinking 2.x will come to the MT....

C'Mon everyone. We all know that the myTouch will get its update. The only real question here is WHEN? -- followed closely by, "Are we going to have the patience to wait or will we move onto something else?" Only problem right at the moment is there is nothing else to move on to (assuming you stay with T-Mo which I plan to do). The CLIQ hasn't gotten its update yet and neither has the Behold II but that phone also has some other issues I hear. I do not want to jump into the Nexus because I do not believe its support is ready for prime time and do not want that headache as well. Nothing left to do but sit and wait. Maybe that rumored myTouch Slide will mysteriously appear.

My only real issue with the mytouch occasional screen hang when exiting and opening apps also lack of multi touch... they are all easy fixes so im sure they will fix them or i can just root... Also tethering

i difference is the update was officially announced for the click and im not sure about he behold II though... I think the Fender edition was also announced for 2.x also but the mytouch wasn't... i doubt they just abandon it because it is like the most spamed cellphone on tv next to the iphone...
