3VO Zagg Screen Protector

Here is my question.. I've had a naked Evo since Launch last June. Never got a scratch on the glass screen. Do people really have that many issues with getting scratches on their screen?

Well my launch day Evo, with full body zagg, doesn't have a scratch either. It has also never been in a case for even 1 second, and been dropped countless times, even once on asphalt. The camera, on the other hand, is all scratched up. The screen probably would be too if it didn't have a zagg.

You were probably careful and avoided scratches. I knew I would never get a scratch no matter how careless I was.

mine seems to be a tad too slim to cover the glass entirely... it's good top to bottom but i have maybe a 1/16 of an inch uncovered... feels like a rip-off for $20

I am sorry but I have used Zagg and it blows...I found it to be too rubbery and had too much orange peel.

I also used Clarivue... and that one blew also. I think I got the smudge proof because the screen looked really frosted and it messed with the touch response.

Then I finally found what works and is the best screen protector I have used..

Steinheil Ultra Crystal...it feels like glass, protects like glass, absolutely no orange peel and the clarity is ridiculous. Just my 2 cents. :)

I have an evo with a naked screen. Took off my zagg cuz it sucked. I decided to remove it after I saw some of the scratch tests on youtube. Neverthe less I did get 3 light scratches all next to each other following the same pattern from a rivit in my jeans. But i don't care I rarely notice and once I get my 3d my 4g will be a backup phone anyway... who cares its just a phone right?

I put on the phantomskinz last night, when I applied the first one, following their instructions, I noticed some marks on the sticky side of the protector, I thought that was my fingerprints (I washed my hand 2x just to make sure) so I removed the screen protector and use the 2nd one. well same thing and it is not finger print but it look like the "glue" that is on the screen, about 75% of the screen look bad. I'll wait a day or 2, if it doesnt get better I'll just remove it and buy a different brand..

I noticed a similar issue with my phantomskinz - I removed it right away and soaked it in the water and very very lightly, removed that print (used my fingers while the screenprotector was still immersed in the water). I reapplied it (tried my level best to avoid touch the sticky side - I found it very hard to do that).

The amount of water I saw on the screen was scary!!!! I hope I never have to do this again.

The Zagg install was MUCH MUCH easier... but it is more than double the price (well, 4 times if you consider that phantomskinz gives you two screen protectors for the price of one)

This is user error.

What happened was that you didn't use a "sprayer" to spray the screen so the screen protector slides properly. So it was installed "too dry" on the screen. As it had started to adhere, you tried to adjust the screen protector, and it caused the screen to stretch as part of it had stuck to the screen already.

I had the same thing happen to me when I was lazy and didn't use a sprayer - I tried to adjust the skin when part of it had dried on the screen already, and you get the "fingerprint" result. Even so, you can't tell when the screen is on, so it does not impact visibility, but it doesn't look as good when the screen is off. I'm a perfectionist so I took it off, used a sprayer, re-applied, and it was perfect.

When applied properly, use a fine "mister spray" to coat the skin lightly and evenly with small drops of water, then dip the screen protector into your solution, take out, tap out excess water, and then apply onto the screen.

The screen will look pretty bad for the first few hours, and then the bubbles will start going away. Within a day or two, it should look perfect.

Most people don't really have the patience or experience to install these, but having installed dozens of Zagg, BSE, Clear Freak, Ghost Armor, Phantom Skinz, etc, it's all pretty much the same procedure.

The main difference for me, is that the Phantom Skinz (followed by Ghost Armor) seem to be the best, most clear, and smoothest screen protectors.

Phantom Skinz also provides the best value since you get a pack of 2.

Sorry, but you're paying double the price for an inferior product.

When Phantom Skinz is applied properly (again it take a bit of patience / experience, just like most other wet install products), it is second to none.

I have tons of gadgets laying around with BSE, Zagg, Phantom Skinz, Ghost Armor, etc. After a year of use, the Phantom Skinz is definitely still the best looking, clearest, and smoothest.

I was daft enough to buy the monster clean touch and i can tell you its a waste of money.

Its supposed to be for those who travel yet the pump spray leaks if you shake the small bottle.
Monster are not interested even though their has been several complaints

I now use iklear which does the same job but a lot cheaper in the long run as you get a 8oz bottle has three decent cloths and eight travel wipes.

I use it on two smart phones two Android tablets and one ipad 3
And i reckon it will last me at least 12 months.

Think you got a bad bottle of the monster screen clean. Mine has never leaked and jt has been kicked around and tossed all over. I bout mine prob bout 5-6 yrs ago, maybe longer. I thought $20 was a bit much but what the hell. I've used it quite a bit and have only used like a 1/8 of the bottle.

Now as far as screen protectors go it's a must. I've seen what a lot of phone's go through w/out them. I almost traded my evo 4g with a girl that had a samsung nexus with a zagg or so she said. It was peeling and looked really bad. I could tell it waswasn't a zagg. I think she bought the cheap one from sprint. I had my zagg for over a year on my evo and the screen protector had a bunch of marks and little dings. Had one pretty bad one too. I thought for sure my screen under it was going to have some damage. I used their lifetime warranty and it cost me $3 for shipping to get my new one. My screen was still perfect underneath.

I also have a zagg on my toshiba thrive tablet. It was $40, steep. But I didn't pay for it. It was on my thrive when I bought it from a guy on craigslist. They do make the screen feel slightly different but not enough to make me care. It's worth the protection. Think most people that hate screen protectors either buy cheap ones or don't install them correctly. They can be a little tricky.

Well since I've originally made this post I've figured out why the whole orange peel effect comes into play...

It's the Wet Application, if you get one that does not need the spray for the application, you will not have the orange peel effect.

This is according to the lady at the sprint store, and from adding the Non Spray HD Screen Protector from Zagg to my iPhone 4S.
