6/21 Maintenance Update thread. Rolling out now.

Gatlinberg, TN updated PRL, Profile and then tried four manual searches for update, finally prompted and installed. No issues at all except reauthorise my Google email account. Phone works as good as before

I had saved a download of Neflix intalled it, it updated and now works. Also checked the HDMI output which had stopped working until this patch and now works.

I will stop telling the story right now because I don't want the nightmares to come back, but basically once you buy a Samsung phone you might has well be selling your soul to the devil cause those phones are made in hell.

Hella funny!

I firmly believe its not the updates being issued by Sprint. Its all the 12 year olds running around with smartphones. "My app doesn't work right." Uninstall app then reinstall it. "My voicemail icon won't go away in the notification bar." I would go into applications, find the app, and clear data. Not all apps are codes for gingerbread. Talk to the developers, don't blame HTC/Android/Sprint.

Just amazing. :rolleyes:

I guess there was no need for Sprint to send an update that is currently downloading on my phone right now.

My EVO4g wants me to install update 4.24.651.1 ..the question is: is this going to upgrade my froyo 2.2 to gingerbread? I specifically do NOT want gingerbread, mostly because I have some apps that toggle my GPS and such and gingerbread renders them useless.

Strange but nothing yet here in NJ for me. Updated my profile, PRL, and nothing for either firmware or HTC software... :(
Oh well I will keep trying!

Got mine downloaded and running. It doesnt seem like anything happened. I havent seen the HTC screen lately though(probably jinxed myself)

Update downloaded and installed. Didn't push to me. Went into settings to retrieve. Good news, my phone wasn't having issues before, still seems fine now. Netflix app works.

Yes, this will put GB on your EVO.

3.70 = froyo
4.24 = GB

I used the rooted update -- and can report that the voice search works fine (previously it sometimes did not pick up the mic audio) and the compass works.

Thanks! Any idea how to make it stop asking me to update? Is this going to be forced sooner or later?

You can uncheck in settings under HTC software update the box that checks the server.

That may stop it.

I don't have any experience since I have always jumped headfirst in vs. waiting it out. LOL!

Others are saying the voice search issue (does not work when driving) was not fixed. Can you confirm that it works while driving in a car (or with other background noise).

Netflix has to be fixed by Netflix... HTC or Sprint can't do anything about that... The problems that you had with the phone after the first update, have they been resolved?

Not true. Its listed by sprint on their site that the maintenance update included a fix for netflix. Problem is its not available in the market, and I seem to have uninstalled it :-P. I really wish I hasn't done that.

I can confirm that Netflix now works like a charm. Actually seems to load movies faster to me. That was the only problem I had after the GB update so I am happy as a pig in mud right now.

I am still waiting to update, because I hear that with the Gingerbread update, you lose the Call Duration information in Call History. Can someone confirm if the call duration still shows up, or is it still missing?

I hadn't noticed, but it's gone. Im sure there is a way to get that info elsewhere... Tasker is a possibility if you have it. You could likely log call info any way you'd like with that app.
