64GB version?

It doesn't look good for even a 32 Gb version. The Samsung promos for the U.S. carriers are only stating 16. Not thrilled at all.

I don't get it. Why launch unless you have all 3 sizes ready to go? Has Samsung not seen how Apple releases their iPhones??

Yeah, it's quite annoying. If they can't do it just don't. I think they'd be better off with just producing the 32gb and doing away with the 16 and 64gb

The Note 2 for Tmobile is on sale on Wirefly.com for$279.99. Only the 16 GB version is being sold.

I think we need to expect only the 16 GB version being available for all U.S. carriers. We can still hope for at least some info during the launch tomorrow that will confirm the 32 and 64 are coming later or not at all. I can live with being able to at least add 64 GB with a SD Card. What I do not want to happen is they release a 64 GB internal version 3 or 6 months from now after being led to believe only the 16 GB option would ever be released. I expect additional color options at most.

Such BS really. I mean, you promote the Note 2 with 16/32/64GB configurations but only have the 16GB available? Sick to death of this bait and switch crap. I can live with getting the 16GB and throwing a SD card in there but who's to know if 3/4/5 months down the road, they'll release the 64GB one? All this secrecy and "I dunno" crap from all the retailers is just plain crap. Now I'm debating whether to even pre-order the Note 2 now or just wait for the S4 instead. Such a clusterphuck this hyped up release has been.

I have no doubt that the 16GB is just a marketing tool. They launch it at $299 and they can get the initial run sold at that price point. Then when sales start slipping they can drop the price to $199 and then roll out the higher cap phones. Probably 32GB for $250 and 64GB for $300.

I fell asleep last night ready to head to Best Buy this morning and woke up with some doubt whether or not this is a good idea. The out of contract price is no higher than several other phones so why the added subsidized price?

If going by the pricing vs capacity model, then;

16GB = $300
32GB = $350-$400
64GB = $450-$500

Assuming this to be true then I, for one, am totally prepared to pay the $500 for the 64GB model RIGHT NOW! I paid off my credit card just for this moment so I'm good to go. SERIOUSLY, shut up and take my money. But, $500 would be steep for even the biggest tech geek, but still. I just wished they would've came out of the gates with all three storage options instead of this crap with only having the 16GB available at launch. At the very least, they should've had the 32GB one available as well since the price point for the 64GB would probably be more then most would be able/willing to spend on a phone.

They're going to do what they did for the SIII...16 and 32 to start, then release an update or dev edition with 64. SIII's 64 black is supposed to be out in November/December. You can only order 32GB models from the online store or special order at Verizon I believe and other carriers. They don't carry the larger ones IN the store.

As long as it has a microSD card that can take 64GB cards, you're fine. Save the extra $100

Then I'll wait for the 64GB one down the road. I will not be fine with a 64GB card because I plan to use that in addition to the 64GB of internal memory :D

"Liam,

Unfortunately we have not received any information with regards to the LTE variant or the larger memory. We doubt that we will see the larger memory specs for the Galaxy Note 2.

Regards

Sales Team"

I went to the Sprint store today to check out the Note 2. I liked it and am going to buy one, but I also would like a 32 or 64 GB version. The reps at the store said that in their experience the same model of phone with more memory has never been released at a later date. Any thoughts on that?

Bad thoughts.

The store reps said the 16 and 32 GB S3 versions were both released on the initial launch date. Are they wrong about that?

They're correct regarding the s3 for sprint. Other providers released 32 later. Thing is, 32 s3 was directly through Sprint.

I'm starting to wonder if there is a memory chip manufacturing issue that is contributing to Samsung not stating a 32 or higher Note 2. Find it so strange that the US is only going to get the 16GB version. :mad:

Why not carry a second 64GB card around in your pocket in its protected case? Put movies on one, put music/apps on the other. Switch them when you need to?

Or get a OTG USB cable and use a 128GB USB stick.

There are plenty of ways to get more memory than waiting for something that may or may not come out months down the line. Enjoy the phone now, not when it starts becoming obsolete by newer tech.

My guess is the 16gb is their most profitable version so they throw it out there for the early adopters to gobble them up. I would have loved to had at least the 32gb version but at this point I have a little over 80 apps and I've only used about 1.5gb so I don't see a time I'll need more internal memory. I have a sandisk 64gb class 10 card that's almost empty so that will be plenty for all my music, pictures and movies.

I think it has more to due with profitability and nothing at all to do with early adopters. It's highly possible 16GB is the highest seller; esp with the cost of external storage being so cheap.
I seriously doubt any OEM is expecting you'll get a phone then try to put your entire life's contents in it. If someone feels they need to carry that much around, get a laptop.

For me, 32/64 is a want. I like knowing I have all that extra space to do nothing with cause I never use it all. For many, 16 is more than enough.

I agree; it's probably ALL about money...like everything else ;)

The reps at the Sprint store said the 64 GB iPhone, for example, wasn't really selling all that much.

I bought my son the 32GB 4S. When the iPhone 5 came out, he got the 16GB. I asked why he didn't get 32; he said he realized he didn't need that much capacity. Personally I feel 32GB should be the standard minimum no matter what OEM you rock.
