.893 update NOW!

The update is rolling now for the rest of us. I just checked for the update and was rewarded with a positive response. I'm downloading right now...
 
well ill wait and see but for the first time i can actually surf from home again since my droid 1. if i actually get signal in other places like i used to ill be a happy camper
 
Got it last night and no problems to report. Can't wait to see if this resolves the data issues for me. If so, I will be very happy with the phone again.
 
I keep getting the following message when I check for updates:

"Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later."

Any idea how I get it to dl the update?

Update was pushed to my device a couple days ago butI kept getting an install failure.
I did a factory reset as suggested by guy at shop and waited for today. now that update is
generally available I still get an install error. It downloads fine but after install and reboot I get a software install failed message. What can I do! Its a stock device and I did factory reset already. No 3rd party apps.
HELP
 
Hey guys,
I have a rooted bionic that is NOT forever rooted, just the regular root. I rooted so I could install Titanium backup and I have several apps "frozen" What happens if I run the update?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Installed the update this AM. Everyday on my way to work I leave 4G to 3G and normally for the first hour or two at work I have no data from it switching over... today.... I HAVE DATA right away!!!! :)

Camera focuses right away now too instead of thinking for about 20 seconds.
 
I just got it, 15 minutes ago. The camera is much better. I'm in a solid 4G area right now, so will see what happens when I get home in a fringe area for data drops!

Hope the random reboot stop!!

Well still have the random reboot problem! Oh well maybe someday.
 
Are you all having to check for updates or is it popping up? I never got a popup message but when I checked for the update, it is there.
 
***WARNING***

When I did the OTA update, my Market "AUTO UPDATE" settings were changed from "NO" to "YES".

I don't like AUTO UPDATING APPS and it was mostly too late by the time I noticed...in case there are others like me.
 
I installed the update. My Auto options are all still off. I think you have a different problem.

In Market ... go to Settings ... un-check Auto-update apps

I'm getting the same thing. Is this normal if you haven't received the update yet?

I am rooted but have the original software on it 5.5.886.XT875.

Any thoughts?
 
I received the update and it failed. I am rooted and had frozen some apps so I am guessing that is the problem. I tried to unfreeze the apps but the clown developer has removed the app used to freeze them from the market, even though it was a paid app. I tried to unfreeze them with another app but I am not sure that worked either because I am still rooted. Can you apply this update to a rooted phone? If not, I guess I will find some instructions on how to unroot it and try again . I am not positive about which apps were frozen so I guess my last resort may be to do a factory reset???
Anyone know anything?

I am rooted and received the update but the update failed. I am working on unrooting and removing the "freeze" on some apps.
Why do these people have to be so CS? They are getting as bad as Apple, thinking they still own your damn phone.

No update for me yet :L I never seem to get these early on.

Did the manual update search, rebooted phone etc. Just gonna have to be patient I guess!

Mine updated as well. Camera is for sure focusing faster. Let's hope the more important issues were indeed addressed and the phone is where it should be.
