when i get somehting thats actually release worthy ill throw it up in its thread, this is just a "quick fix" if you will for this backdoor that i found.. shabbymod 1.0 will finish the job of killing it off

nah once i get something that is actually a custom kernel then ill make a new thread, right now im just unpacking it editing and repacking it.. we cant seem to get source to work right

Funny you should mention that, I came here tonight because I was suprised, and pleased to see that today, after redoing the phone and everything and then fully charging it I have 1 day 5 hours on the phone at this moment and it still shows 66% charge.
Granted this has been a very slow day for my phone, no phone calls today and only occasional internet searching. and less then 45 mins of games.

I have seen better battery life, though I can not be completely sure it because of this alone.

I ran a "test" on my phone to see if it helped the battery. I turned off my battery saver and other associated programs for the past several days and used the phone as normal (playing around on the android market, listening to music, making calls, texting, etc...). I also kept my charger handy at work just in case. I noticed that on the first day that the battery went down pretty quickly and had to be recharged, but yesterday it held out pretty well with heavy use. It definately helped....

if you want to see if its been disabled in terminal emulator type the following
pidof RescueStarter
pidof RescueServer
if it gives a number then its running.. this kernel should halt that tho

No number. it just came back to the command line with the $ prompt after each line.
I guess it worked! Goodbye Big Brother! Almost, that is.

I think boost used this backdoor to reprogram my msid when i was having problems with my text messages... i think i might keep it... seein as there is no boost store i can go to...

i did but when i check to see if its still running i still get a number in terminal emulatorYou need to select your ops file that comes with the odin recovery download . It'll be the SPH -M820 file . Click PDA and select Shabbykernel .

After the phone restarts you have to wait the 5 mins it takes until odin will tell you eaither pass or fail. I havent cheked to see if I get a number or not but I have seen an increase in battery life using shabbys kernel.
Ok ran the command shabby said to in Android Terminal and Nothing happens after it says excuting pidof RescueStarter pidof RescueServer. so I take that to mean that it worked on my prevail then.

Did Odin tell you that the process PASSED ? If you have done everything correctly and wait until Odin completes , it should work . Also , if you are not doing a bunch of tethering and aren't having battery issues , I really wouldn't worry about it . I did it because I mainly use my phone as a wireless modem and have done a bunch of modifications to it . I don't want Boost opening the backdoor and snooping around where they are not wanted .
