Root [ACS] Star-ScROM for Transform Ultra

Hey, you think you can cook ad blocker into the rom for apps like shabby did for his shabby prevail rom?
 
I tried installing this using the .bat file, It rooted my phone (though it was already rooted), but after that I received maybe 20 "forced close" messages while it was trying to install the rom. After the restart it looked like a few APK's were present, but that was the only thing that I could tell that was different

Am I missing something?

you're good to go, nothing looks different when you flash it, just some tweaks and shit (mine did all the force closes too) check for "star settings" if it's there then you're gold
 
interdpth can i just say you are the man !!! made this mediocre phone into some seriousness thanks a lot, coming from an hd2 i didnt think this would be cool but u have made it awesome thank you for your hard work and time MAD PROPS THANK YOU !!! ps only joined this cause of you and your work AMEN!!!

1. where do I go on the phone to check out star settings?
2. what is cwm?

hey guys, when i flashed with this rom, i got an error after it finished "google talk authentication failed" and i couldnt download any apps from the market. i did a factory reset and its working again. does anyone know why this might have happened?

also, by resetting to factory after i flashed with this rom, are elements of the rom still on the phone, or is it back to the state it came from the factory in?

I had that as well, it's something on the sdcard as I cleared my SD card and it went away.
 
i fixed the issue by resetting from factory, then linking my gmail account, then applying the root - everything works properly now - thanks for all the help!
 
Something that would be awesome, is if you can figure out how to get rid of the "Mobile ID" application which is a form of carrier IQ.

After installing this rom I was able to remove that program safely with titanium backup, just make sure you use a different launcher like go launcher or something

FYI!!!!!
do not do a factory reset if you remove that!! it bootloops the phone and untill interdpth figures out odin its just a paper weight!!!

Star-ScROM is a custom ROM for the Samsung Transform Ultra. Most ROMs have funny, off the wall or cool names. Star-ScROM is simply based off of the Transformer Starscream, and that's about it.

Star-ScROM now ships with my first Android program called StarSettings,
StarSettings "unlocks" some hidden features.
Like native USB Tether
A font changer(haven't really played with it yet but it seemed cool)
Battery Info
Radio Info(Change to EVDO and it'll unlock your speeds to awesome levels!)

I MAY make a stock restorer.

If you fail to send MMS's:
Turn off your Wi-Fi.
Turn off 3G
reboot phone
Turn on 3g
Send an MMS

This appears to be something with Android. I will look into it further but this is the fix

does it really speed up ur phone 3g? cause i could rlly use some high or decent speeds right now does it make a big or noticable difference if you change it to EVDO
 
I just rooted my phone last night, and installed wireless tethering I need to know if this rom is actually worth the risk of installing and I would also like to know how to meet you guys on ICQ. Much thanks to interdpth for the custom rom keep up the good work.

hello peeps .. im really new to this phone and all that procedure it takes to get it root it. i done for LG OM. but naw this phone could someone plz help me out to get this phone root it bcus i really wana try this room out plzz.
 
OK, Take it easy on me guy's. I'm a rooted EVO abuser (flash a holic) and got my son a transform ultra (boost). rooting it today and wanted to know will RA recovery work on this device or is it cmw only? and can some one post screens of this rom or does it look stock? can't imagine it does being there evo roms dont.
