used the capt throwback method...do I need to keep the flash_img and mtd-eng.img files on my sd card? just want to try and clean some stuff up.

also...could someone help me out with battery life..

I am still on stock battery, and with mikg3.0, antrhax, and ultimaterom tweaks...my battery does not seem to be lasting too long with low/moderate use.

I basically text, a few calls, light internet browsing. I toggle mobile data and use wifi whenever possible. the only thing i could change is set my screen brightness lower..I currently use auto detect.

I jsut flashed anthrax yesterday..so i understand to give it a little while to settle in..what other options may I have though..other than trying a new kernel..and what kind of performance should I be expecting?

pri is 2.33_003

currenly on 8 hrs with this battery.at 15% left...not to good!

edit: setcpu is at 245/998 inter X (figured screen off with this one was lower than smartass..am I wrong?)

am i missing something..would there be something running in the background I should look at stopping??

I have an extended battery from gorillagadgets. i like it, have to have a different back cover that it comes with. Makes it bigger in the hand, that bothers some people. I am getting those that Rx got too though.

That being said, have you updated your PRL and Profile? In that order, find them in Menu/Settings/system Updates. Might help some.

Did you investigate that wakelock issue?

Another thing is to calibrate your battery. There is an app in the market or you can do it in recovery. at least in 3.08. Some swear by a full charge, calibrate, and then completely discharge. rinse, repeat. I didn't go that whole route, just did the calibrate with app when it was at 100%. Apparently the battery only charges to 90% and drops off as soon as you take it off charge.

Another thing you can do is go with an aosp rom and an sbc kernel. that seems to allow a fuller charge and the aosp roms use less resources and last really well.

CM7 is one of the aosp roms. Tiamat the kernel. Some worry about the bootloop of death prob and avoid it. I do myself sometimes, but not always.

Sort of rambling, hope u got something from that.

edit: while you are in there, uncheck the scheduled check in htc software update so it doesn't try to give you the ota.

well battery life is partly linked to your kernel. i always give new kernels at least 2 to 3 days to settle in and then move on to the next especially if battery life is not that great. have you tried the freedom kernels yet?

do you have setcpu? if so what is you setcpu settings?

Something that will kill battery life is Sync operations. If you have dropbox, sugarsync, box, or others then you may want to see if you can set to run on wifi only and when plugged up only. Also check your facebook sync and uncheck live feed. Make sure Wifi is off when not using it and 4g is off when not using it.

ahhh...never thought about the sync thing! I have livefeed checked, every hour!! LOL..I am assuming that is for the friendstream?? that I never use..haha.

how about deleting apps...has anyone deleted friendstream..any problems?? what about the android and htc calendars..I just discovered Jorte, and feel I dont need the native ones anymore..any repercussions from deleting?

well, got my answer...guess the devs left those apps in for a reason!!! lol, good thing I only froze them..not delete!!

I would use titanium backup and freeze the app before you delete it. This way of it borks something else you just need to unfreeze. ;)

Also I use a sync app called auto sync by curvefish that I've been using for quite a while. It'll allow you to toggle your sync on an off manually. Does the job well with minimal footprint. :)

thanks for the reply...I just changed my facebook sync to once a day, contacts only (since I dont use friendstream anyway)...weather is set to on demand..same for news..should be good now!
