Root After wipe and rom install

I have amon ra. I have s=off. I did a full wipe.
Now I'm installing MikG 3.11.
What should I take off of the backup I made?
I think I want my pictures.
Somewhere I read something about keys for 4G.
(Of course if the phone keeps rebooting then it might not be an issue.)

I guess I didn't wipe everything because my icons are where they were before. However while I'm typing this it rebooted. Grrr.

Mikg automatically wipes for you. Try redownloading and flashing again. Sounds like it might have been a bad download
Actually I think I was mistaken. The last rom I installed had no icons at all and when this one popped up with icons I thought it was taking data I had erased. I need to put it away and do homework.

That is called a flashing itch :D:D

Im rather surprised that noone advised on a factory reset in Amon ra and then reflashing the rom after a new download that is) If the wipes don't work, and a fresh download doesn't work, then a factory reset is all you have left. Mind you, it is a last resort, but a viable one nonetheless.

I checked the checksum while the sd card was in my computer so I'm pretty sure the rom ain't bad and this has happened with at least three different roms.
Just for sh*** and giggles I'll run factory reset right now, but I think maybe it's time to set everything back to factory rom, original recovery, and s=on and then pay the $100 to get a replacement phone from TEP.

I just did a factory reset. We'll see what it does.
Next I'll try a factory reset and reloading the rom.
How is the factory reset different from erasing the things in anon ra or running the superswipe?

Well it seems with the mik rom you get nothing when you do a factory reset. That's interesting. No ring to pull up no nothing, just a blank screen with the Mik logo background and the bar across the top with the time battery and usb indicator. It said charge only when I plugged in the cable but it won't let me change it.

It won't even pull up the app to turn the phone off when I hit the power button. Fascinating.

That happens because important ROM files (like the lockscreen) are run from the data partition on MikG, so you can't use the factory reset option and retain a functional ROM.

I notice that you keep opening a new thread for each issue you're having even though it's all really related to your original problem. That's ok, but it would be easier for everyone to follow if you keep it in one thread, so that way anyone who tries to help you has all the information. That, and when I'm quickly checking my User CP, I look at threads at which I've already posted to see if additional help is needed ;).

So I think it couldn't hurt for you to try flashing the latest stock/rooted ROM, and see if you still have reboots. I recommend trying this one:

[ROM] 4.67 - Rooted - Optimized - Sharing means caring - xda-developers

Use the 3/5 ODEX version. Wipe ALL in recovery (everything except SD card), and then flash the ROM. See how it runs for you. If you continue to get reboots, we'll get you unrooted and back to stock (though if you have TEP, that's not actually necessary).

ive never had this issue when flashing a mik rom, much less the mikg rom, and ive flashed it several times when there were so many updates coming out for it. I was going from CM7, and flashing mikg and i would do a factory reset between rom flashes, both going to and from mikg. So it doesnt make sense that doing a factory reset and reflashing the rom regardless of where those apps are doesnt make sense for it not to work if youre reinstalling those now missing components... that is, of course, provided you did reinstall the rom.

I do believe this is the issue. He did a factory reset and did not reflash the ROM.

He did a factory reset in order to try to fix the issues he was having. Problem is mikg stores important stuff in the data partion, which gets wiped you you factory reset
